I longboard. I've done a bunch of different styles too. For a good speed board you can go with a landyachtz DH race (I think they're calling it "the switch" now) or urban (which is the "spud" these days).
If you are into carving (where I think the most fun is had), go with a loaded vanguard. There are different flex levels so you can find one that is right for your weight. Pumping feels awesome on a vanguard. It's so nice.
Another brand I really love is Arbor. I have a Koa Pin (http://arborcollective.com/skate/boards/view/13/pin-koa) and Koa Pocket Rocket (http://arborcollective.com/skate/boards/view/25/pocket-rocket-koa).
Last thought. If you are going to get something from Zumies, get a slightly shorter board with gullwing double king-pin trucks. The ride is pretty sweet.

so i was looking online and sector 9 seems to be pretty inexpensive, i know most people bash them as noob boards, but i assume that for a beginner rider they would be okay, i really like this style:

but im only going to have about $170-180 to spend on it...

Drop through decks are nice and beginner boards because they get you close to the ground. I don't hate Sector 9, but everyone seems to have Sector 9. One thing I will say about that board style is that it limits how you can ride significantly. Drop through decks are usually for fast cruising or bombing. If that's what you want to do that board should be great.
I went with a "beginner board" at first and outgrew it in a month or two. I ended up getting a second board not long after. The board you lined to looks good though.
