budget gaming system for a friend, additions and revisions?
Goals are:
cost minus case <= $665
Run most new games at 1920x1080
HDMI output
mobo needs overclockability and the ability to run xfire of the GFX at a later date
PSU must be able to handle hardware, + future upgrades (2nd HDD and SSD, 2nd GFX card) and be modular
4gb+ of ram
quad core or better
the case is the CM 430, as he already bought it.

I'd suggest ebay for some of the items that really don't need a warranty, like the case. Cheaper, no tax and oh, cheaper. CPU's don't really come DOA all too often either and even then, most reputable ebay stores have warranties.

You might want to skip the water CPU cooler and invest in something else for that money. No point to have a cooler that's almost as expensive as the CPU imo.

I like that cooler but if you want to go Air. I have a Cooler Master V6gt I would be willing to sell for $50 + 5 for shipping. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103089&Tpk=V6%20Gt It's fairly quiet, and should cool that CPU very well.

Using the V6GT I hit 4GHz on my Phenom II 965 black edition and its 140 watts with temps in the 40s. Check out the review I wrote. http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/frontpage/?q=node/522 it was only used for that testing session and then placed back in its box. Still has all the mounting hardware, stock TIM and all.

Good. The 6000 series GPUs will be out then, and you can either go with a reduced priced 5770 or get a new 6770
