That's right, BigFoot, the maker of the Killer NIC is back! Get this VisionTek BigFoot Killer 1200 for only $80! (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833189002&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL100110&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL100110-_-EMC-100110-Index-_-NetworkInterfaceCards-_-33189002-L03C) ...wait, BigFoot actually convinced a third party manufacturer to make their card? Yup, apparently. :P

Not exactly a deal unless you have brain damage, but this popped up in today's Newegg newsletter and I thought this was hilarious. :P

I once found a local BF2 server that reported my latency as '<1ms'. When are these companies going to accept that latency isn't introduced on the players' side of the NIC?

Eff that! I would rather set up MIMO, and be done with it.

A Killer NIC......

I thought that was as dead as iRAM

Those are quality LED controllers, though.

Funny you should mention that. There's actually an original iRAM board on the shelf at the Microcenter near me...it's been sitting on that shelf since the first time I went there, and I expect it will be there for a long time still. :P

Yeah we have it too and Killer NIC's. I just didn't know people were actually buying it

It'd look cool in a case as long as no one else saw it... then it'd just be embarrassing.

I have one in my computer that I got for almost nothing. I use it for the "pretty" flashing lights.

(I think I have an M1 or something like that)

I would just lie and say it's another video card

or just brag that you have disposable income and merely wanted to fill that ugly, empty PCIe x1 slot. lol

no; sadly, mine is one of the slightly older PCI ones. I think they were trying to clear those out at the time, and that's why they had such a large discount.

Wait, I thought they were all PCI...they're making these things for PCIe?!? WHY?!? What a waste of bandwidth. Not only are they selling a crappy, pointless product at stupid prices, but they're potentially decreasing graphics bandwidth. Just by populating another PCIe slot can downgrade an x16 slot to x8 on a lot of mobos.

Yup, that was half the point of this thread. ;) PCIe x1 though, so not as bad...still ridiculous though.

Woah, I did not know that. O.O
