Well, kinda..it has around the right gravity, it's not egg-shaped but it is tidally locked so you'll get similar usable space, it's not orbiting a gas giant but it is a fast, close orbit around a dwarf star..

...but enough quibbling over details...they found Jinx!

Glad you put a link to Jinx up, I had no idea what it was. I did see the planet article though :D such awesome stuff. Man...too bad given current tech it's not possible to get a good close look at the planet, close enough to see if anything is flapping around in its stratosphere. Or mesosphere. Or heliosphere. Or hemisphere. Or whatever the heck they call the different atmospheric layers. :P

If you enjoy hard scifi I would highly recommend checking out some of Larry Niven's work. Particularly, start out with the 'Known Space' short story collections Tales of Known Space and Neutron Star.

I wonder if it'd be possible for humans for our plants to grow abundantly there if water was available.

That new "potentially earth-like" planet they found was an interesting find!
