Anyone have any experience with these Seagate Hybrid drives that use platters and a couple of NAND chips for speed bursts? Just wondering if they're better than Velociraptors?
I want to update my system to Windows 7, but don't know which drive to buy. It's still too expensive for SSD's
Anandtech and a few others did some good reviews of them back when they came out.

Long story short, they beat everything except for SSDs for read/write times, but do fall behind Velociraptors in random read times.

I think I'm gonna get that 600GB, 6Gbps, 10K Velociraptor

You can get two of the hybrid 500gig drives for not much more and run them in raid 0. You'd have almost double the capacity and they'd out perform the Velociraptor.
