cant say i didnt see this coming, with xfx starting on ati products earlier this year. it is still disappointing though.

I have a feeling combining this, and Nvidias poor sales due to the wafer shortage, that nvidia may not pull out of its slump for several years.

I prefer ATI myself but here's hoping they don't go to the wall - without nVidia, there's no-one to push ATI forwards

This is exactly whey I learned to program for OpenCL rather than for just CUDA libraries.

Software engineers should never uses libraries aimed at a specific hardware set, now companies that use graphics accelerated computing with CUDA will significantly fall because Nvidia's shortage is becoming more abundant
