Like the title says, XFX or Visiontek? I've narrowed to these 2 because they both have lifetime warranties.

The compare link here:
http://www.microcenter.com/search/compare_products.phtml?search_id=ae151c91a97737a98 092c5c915f61bd3

doesn't provide many details as to why the XFX is $320 and the Visiontek is $280. Which one is better? :?

i like xfx because the warranty is on par with EVGA, and does cover aftermarket cooling.

If I get the XFX I probably won't put an a/m cooler on it, but if I get the Visiontek I'll probably throw a Zalman vf3000 on it. So pricewise that way I think I'm just going to get the XFX one

Just wait on 6870

Just wait on 6870
This is what I would do.

If you want to go with the 5850 though, definitely go with the XFX, if for no other reason than the warranty.

that's the thing though...XFX and Visiontek both have lifetime warranties. I'm just trying to figure out why the XFX is $40 more. The specs are the sems as far as I can tell (clock/ram speeds, etc) the only thing I can see is the Visiontek has the ATi reference cooler while the XFX has a different one, and the XFX takes 2 6-pin PCIe connetors while the Visiontek only takes 1, accoring to the MicroCenter link I posted anyways

when are the 6870's due out? I tried finding info, and found pics of the XFX version already, but no release date (other than October) or pricing

Not for a while.

Even if you wait, there will just be another one coming out after you waited for the 6870.

Just buy it.......the XFX, of course

I've had a VisionTek die on me too and never heard back from the few emails I sent. Pricks.

that's crappy seeing how it's got a lifetime warranty
