from what i can tell the 6800 series seems way lower then the 5800 series the price is even cheaper. but ther performance dosent look to good.
newegg has a few of them up for grabs.

Ok, I'm lost. On Newegg the lowest-priced 5870 is $340. The lowest-priced 6870 is $180??

I couldn't find any comparisons on my admittedly limited search, but by ATI's numbering scheme the 6870 should be nothing but better than the 5870, right?

wrong. the 6870 is better than the 5850, but not the 5870

Those have to be typos. Every thing I have seen over the last month on the 6xxx series says they are 10-20% faster than the 5xxx series. So unless AMD is moving to put the final nail in Nvidias coffin, someone at newegg screwed up.

Oops, I was pricing the 6850 at $180. The 6870 is still only $240, a hundred bucks cheaper than the 5870.

note. amd (ati) has redone their naming scheme. the 68xx series will be replacing the 57xx series, the 69xx will be replacing the 58xx

i dont get this inst the 5700 series suppose to be energy efficient. last time i checked a video card requiring 2 6 pin connectors is not efficient
