Another fail.
I was playing the beta earlier this morning and it's terrible. It seems like they put all the hope of getting sales into advertising... The commercials always make it seem awesome.

What a coincidence...so was I, and I was thinking the same thing. As of right now I'm pretty disappointed with the beta.
It should be noted that TDU 1 is essentially my favorite game ever.

Pretty much the first racing game I've ever played where you can't whip around a corner with the e-brake and apparently the tires have perfect traction because I was driving up a steeeep dirt hill and couldn't make it up so I was just popping the clutch but rather than losing traction and sliding back down, I'd simply gain an extra foot or so and go back to 0 RPM.

Do I win something?! That tends to happen when I edit stuff/changing the wording and don't bother to proof-read. lol

I'm still not giving up hope. I plan to pick it up when it is released. At worst it will hold me over for ten days until Dead Space 2... I love TDU...I've put way to many hours into it. It was a shame on the 360. Pretty much over night from when they added party chat to XBL, TDU died.

Beta releases are always terrible. I think this will be a reasonable game when it's released and I am really looking forward to it. In terms of driving physics it isn't really a sim so having perfect tyre, steering, clutch and throttle control doesn't really phase me. Although to make things interesting I did always drive with driving assists off in the original.

Playing TDU 2 right now. Here is a video I shot of the first boot, and some farting around. Honestly, the only thing that is really bugging me is the GPS doesn't seem as simple, there is no camera lock that I can find, and the text is a little small for a SDTV (What I use for capturing). By no means a reason to kill the game though... Gotta get used to judging corners better...

I take it you had the game muted while you were playing? The woman you escorted, well, there's a character that shouldn't have existed. The dialogue is insipid and the storyline unnecessary, from what I could see, and it all seems like they took the original game and slathered a thick layer of manure over it...
...but it's totally worth it for the Delta Integrale. Nice choice.

not sure what you mean by muted? Can you not hear sound in the video?
I agree 100% on the "storyline." It just is not needed in the least. I pretty much just zone out while there are cut scenes. I'm also not a huge fan of the FPS walk around stuff. Just seems like a waste of effort to me.
No doubt. The Delta drives great. On both road, and dirt it is a blast to drive.
I picked up a Ariel Atom and for the most part I've just been driving to unlock roads. I need to get to work on buying houses. I got a Audi Q7 v12 TDI to buy.
Edit,
It is really the little things that bug me about the game. Like the way I can't lock the camera drives me nuts.
