Mr. Blunt would probably win here in Santa Cruz just because of his name....
What's a Roy Blunt? ;) ...on another note, that's an interesting method of advertising your political campaign...I don't think I've seen any candidates use AdWords before.

In the last election in the UK, the Conservative party bought the adwords for the Labour party...

....bwuah? Was that so the Labour party couldn't use them or so that the Conservative party could run really horrible adds and make it look like the Labour party was doing it?

So when people were searching for the labour party they got conservative ads instead. ..

I don't even see internet ads anymore.
Sorry marketers, but your aggressive methods of bashing my eyes with ads that I don't care about has caused my optic nerve to develop the ability to filter out your hard work.

I wonder if a Roy Blunt is anything like a Jeffrey? It would certainly spice up politics.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, here in Alabama, there's a guy running for Treasurer named Young Boozer.
Around here there's a guy running for...tbh I have no clue (shows how well his campaign is working :P ), who's name is Loller. :D Get it? Lol'er? :P
There's another one that's pretty sweet though. Guy running for sheriff in the next county over is named Bateman...and somebody went around to a bunch of his signs and painted of the 'e' (it wasn't me, I swear). :D Bat Man for sheriff. Now there's something I think we could all support. :D

While I'll admit that I'm not up to speed on exactly how "Ads by Google" work, I have to think that if there's an ad showing up on our site then the site is getting money for it somewhere. If that's the case I don't care what kind of snake oil they're peddling.

Oh dear lord. Boehner? What a name for a statesman. He even fake-cries like Beck.

We had a county commissioner candidate here named Johnny Walker. Sadly, he lost.
I want to know just what exactly TGS was looking at lol. Didn't realize we had any 'medicinal' posts here, other than Jon's occasional post.

There's a screenshot in the OP, it was a AdWords ad for a political candidate named James Blunt...jokes ensued. :P

Young Boozer, and it turns out that he's actually Young Boozer III (they've used this name for 3 generations?!) won State Treasurer. http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2010/11/young_boozer_iii_wins_state_tr.html
We also have a Public Service Commissioner named Twinkle. http://blog.al.com/live/2010/11/public_service_commission.html
I think I may barf now.
