what to do with unneeded dvd cases?

Anyone have any idea, short of throwing them away, what I can do with a couple hundred empty DVD cases I don't need anymore? Just decided to get a big CD wallet to hold my DVDs (means I can get rid of a huge bookshelf and means several fewer boxes next time I move) and I'll have all those cases...I'm happy to send them priority mail if anyone wants any, just pay cost of shipping and I can jam in as many as possible.

Make a case out of them. I took all of my dead hard drives and made a case out of them. It was published in Maximum PC. There was that guy who made a case out of 80mm fans and it too was published.

Donate them to your local Goodwill and watch them try to sell them for $0.50 each.... That's what people here do. I walked in and saw a shelf of big title DVDs for $0.50 each and was ready to buy the whole thing until I found out they were empty cases someone donated.

Or you can find a local mom and pop used dvd store and give it to them... most places will take them for back up artwork.

Ain't no such thing. The damned things keep chipping and cracking, takes no time at all for the cheapy hinges to break. I can't count how many of my discs have to share space or live in envelopes due to an eternal lack of good cases.

$0.50 each, you say? Time to go shopping at the thrift and dollar stores, I guess.

Thanks for all the suggestions - most of the cases are single or 2-disc (many of those are the slender variety instead of the normal thickness case). I have a bunch of multi-disc cases too, holding up to 6. Their conditions are good - I've had some extras over the years and weeded out the cracked ones. I'll get the new disc wallet on Monday probably and will know exactly how many of each kind of case I have then.

hey guys, I emptied the DVD cases the other day, and I have:
124 single-DVD cases, 4 of which are white, the rest black.
54 dual-DVD cases, 1 of which is white, rest are black. some of these are slim.
13 6-DVD cases, 1 of which is clear, the rest are black.

If anyone wants any before I figure out what to do with them, shoot me a PM...I'll just ask that you pay shipping (ie, I'd be happy to stuff as many as I can in a priority box).

lol, after splurging on a couple of disc-binders and shuffling cases around I'm okay now. For a while.
