Who's going shopping? Where are you going shopping? What time?

Basically, WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS?!

Share them here!

I personally plan on going to Fry's Electronics tomorrow night depending on the ad. Depending on what ads come out tomorrow, I may change my store choice.

Also, post what deals you are going after!

You couldn't get me out of the house on a bet. And as far as going into a store you'd have to pay me ALOT. By the way i hate shopping.

I may hit up staples (they actually have pretty insane discount prices... I bought 2x250gb portable hdd's for 25 and 35 dollars a couple years ago when they were typically in your 100 dollar range and that was just a clearance price. I have a friend that works there so she's gunna let me know if there's anything good.
That's about the only place I'll GO to but you bet I'll be shopping online for a few hours. :P

I'll be avoiding any major population centers as if the zombie apocalypse had begun.

I'll pay full price. In fact, I'll pay extra if it means not having to deal with this.

...and I love shopping...

Just not with a bunch of crazy lunatics.

I'll be standing outside Target with my brother. Everywhere else had terrible ads.

Meh. That's what people do every time when they just gotta have the new iPhone or Windows OS.

Speaking of which, I've seen Blizzard ads for some new Warcraft thingy (don't know, don't play). It means that craigslist is stuffed full of last-year's-high-end-tech while the gamers try to unload, upgrade, and score some extra cash.

You couldn't pay me to go shopping tomorrow. However I did pick up 16GB of ram from Newegg for ~$180. 8 gigs for my desktop and the same for my laptop. Couldn't resist. Only thing else I may pick up is a SSD for my laptop.

We have no such day in Canada, either, as our Thanksgiving holiday is held on a different day. The blowout shopping frenzy occurs post xmas, on Boxing Day (or, more often, "Boxing Week"). All the stores want to liquidate overstock before the Dec31 tax cutoff (lol, to make room for a ton more inventory purchased before Dec31, so that they might claim an "annual depreciation" on their net assets and thus pay less tax).

My wife and I did some shopping online today. Same deals as advertised for tomorrow, but we also got to find internet coupons (which are plentiful) and tack them on for even better deals. Haha! Sadly we don't have a ton of money for really great stuff this year, but we got a nice deal on some dishes.

Next year we plan on getting an HDTV. I'm looking at 46" minimum. While I'm all for picture quality, and would go all out for a full-array with local dimming, I'm more in love with the ultra thin displays. LG and Samsung are consistently the highest quality when it comes to the ultra-thin category (1.3in and less), and hopefully by next year 3D will have gotten cheaper and the TVs thinner and better quality and more features. I'm not totally sold on 3D, but it's not exactly an expensive feature to add. There's nothing but a timer output that has to be added. It's really a no cost thing to do.

3D (3V? Trid?) is really kind of awful. Much better than blue/red, but still no better than those cheapo jewellery "hologram" photo thingies. You can't move around and get perspective on objects, see what's "behind" something else; you can only sit right at 12 o'clock and pretend there's some depth to a blown out 2D image. The illusion works much better in a theatre environment because they can film and play the cameras with a wider parallax. Not so at home, not even close without projection.

I've played with some of the demos in store. It works quite well really. At 12' from the television I had 6'+ to move around in. Current 3D TVs are very good. There's no loss of resolution (as compared to parallax barrier technology) and the "sweet spot" is fairly big. The big thing I would want 3D for would be gaming, but I don't do a ton of that on console anyway, and the consoles aren't jumping on the bandwagon yet.

I'm really not that interested in it though, especially if it increases the price of the TV significantly. It's just a feature I would enjoy if I could get it at little to no extra cost.

Damn US... why does Australia have to be too 'pricey' to have a black friday...

No. Damn the US for having Black Friday. It's sick. I saw a video on youtube that was posted today of a 4AM riot at a local Walmart where the police had to respond. The crowd then proceeded to trample some of the officers. I've been to that same Walmart and they never have jacksh!t...so people got hurt for no other reason than 'unwarranted mass greed'.
And the people that camp out for several days straight in front of stores to save $200? They should just die. I saw a news interview with a guy that saved $240 dollars after camping out in freezing rain for 70+ hours. 240/70= $3.43/hour...was it worth it? A minimum wage job would net you more than twice that, and probably in a warm indoor environment, fool! I swear that my average fellow Americans' thought process gets shallower and shallower every year. It won't be long until it completely flat-lines.:( I often feel secondhand embarrassment for the people I see around me...especially on days like today.

Black Friday FTL.

Stood in line @ Target this morning, even though 4 years ago I said never again.

Got a Wii Balance board for $67 for my troubles, along with a majority of the rest of the Christmas shopping done. All I have left to shop for is the two kids, and I held off there because the Mrs wasn't with me.

I think the 3D "illusion" depends a lot on individual observers. Some people just can't "learn" to see properly through binoculars and microscopes, no matter how hard they try. Insofar as these 3D screens go, I am one of those people. It looks like blurry barf to me, no clarity whatsoever.
