View Full Version : Everyone else is doing it :)
I got some new toys last Saturday from AirSickStencils (http://www.airsickstencils.com).

Can you post a closeup pic of the fine detail? Your third pic, leftmost edge near the floating skull things? I'm curious how fine their vinylcutter could go. I wonder if conductive (copper?) materials can be used instead of vinyl, allowing machine cut PCB traces.
They're about to come out with a biomech series actually. I'm gonna see if I can get some of those to play with too.
Konrad, yeah I can do that. These are all laser cut on .10mm Mylar. They can get pretty detailed.
Curtis- Their arson kit is gonna really help out on my friends case I'm painting. I've kinda been waiting for these to come in before I could go much further. All I was using before was a hand cut amoeba shape stencil from a piece of cardboard. Not exactly the most precision cut out there.
Oops.. I forgot one

Nice! Looking forward to seeing you put those to good use. :D

Gah! Now I'm going to have to have you do two vinyl transfers for drumheads. You're killin my pocketbook man!
I didn't do it. Blame it on Dave at AirSick. :)
Hey Konrad - sorry for dragging my feet. Here's that closeup you wanted. For size reference, the fan in the frame is 80mm.

lol, thanx ;)
Laser cut .10mm Mylar stencils ... alas, I doubt you can cut <0.10mm copper plate (too reflective?) or adhesive vinyl (too melty/sticky?).
I was thinking about vinyl (copper?) PCBs, straight from CAD to cutter. Weeding the detail might be a bitch, though application of such small pieces couldn't be too hard with proper masking.
I'm not really sure what the laser is capable of. Hit up their site and send an email.

Ah, sorry, I thought you were part of them, Sarge. Will do, unless I find a local shop instead.
