i know this dosetn belong here.
i need some help fast. im trying to open a port on my stupid verizon router.
im hosting a minecraft server.
let me know what info you need and ill provide it.
the router is a d90-327-w15-06 westell

i used that site i followed the dam directions and nothing it says the port cant be reached or is closed. when i get it up and running ill glad let people in.

what ports need to be opened? I've yet to set up my server.

port 25565 it is the default i guess im new to the whole port thing.
here is the directions i was using.

i also dont know what i did but i cant use ipconfig on my computer anymore lol.
You'll need to forward that port on your router to the local address on your LAN. Say 192.168.1.5 or whatever it is. Then tell people the server address is whatever your wan address is. Use whatismyip.com to figure that out.

ok i got the port open i was in the server now its letting other pople connect but it wont let me connect it says its failing.

Are you trying to connect using the internal IP or the external IP?

ok i got it to work i was using an internal. they had to use external and a word of advice just use the .exe version of the server for minecraft its simpler.
