So I had a phone interview today for Fedex... The interview was mainly to see how I felt about working with a team and I had to give examples of where I have used teamwork in my life. I gave her a few examples from my current job, bootcamp and previous jobs; she seemed especially blown away by my bootcamp examples so the interview seemed to go very well.

I have at times had 3 jobs. It was insanity, but paid for vacations and other things. The only reason it worked for me was during that time the wife was teaching during the day and going to school 3 nights a week and one or two weekends a month.

To be honest I am a workaholic so it was not too bad. I just missed seeing my SO awake. I also worked 2 jobs for several years. I still do contracts once in a while, but I am too busy with my house to take on any more jobs right now.

Point is, make sure not only you can take it, make sure those around you can too.

Oh, and I could be wrong, but your tax base will go up... Figures.

Worked that many hours. Gave up my life during that time.. Wake, work, eat, drink, sleep.

The extra money is worth it - but only if you get the time off to enjoy it. You can do it, but not forever.

Do what you got to do and plan for the future. I'd say do it for as long as you can handle it, as you'll thank yourself later for doing it. But I also know people who are dirt poor and happier than me. But they don't have much room for mistakes or mishaps.

It's really about what you want for yourself in life. Both now and especially and IMO most importantly, later in life.

Work hard now while you can and are able to, because I'll tell you, it sure doesn't get easier as you get older. Plan plan and plan some more for the future.

That makes sense. I'm thinking of doing it but I'm not sure how long I can sustain it. I dunno if I can work 7 days a week for any more than 6 months but that's an extra $6000 in the bank I wouldn't have and a good company to put on a resume.

I'm a workaholic as well, as long as I'm capable of driving safely, I'll work any hours. I'm just worried because I know nothing goes as planned. It looks doable on paper but it doesn't take much to throw you off a couple hours which could be dangerous at the wrong time.

My girlfriend is against it, she said "she wants a boyfriend, not a roommate."

...and this is why I only work 2 jobs max anymore...

Do it while you are young and have the spare time. I have never officially held 2 jobs at once but there are times when I will work a 50 hour week at work and then come home every night and put another 3-6 hours in here on reviews and such.

I would def. do the fedex thing, and stay on until you can become a driver. my cousin drives for fedex now and makes 24 bucks an hour doing an easy job that he loves.

Yeah he wouldn't be missin much. :whistler:
(sorry. It was there. I had to take it.)

Anyways I work 60 hrs a week at my job now. I have for the past few years now. Plus I go to school as much as 4 days a week, and I am still actually considering getting a second job. The one thing holding me back, is not any hesitation, it's trying to figure out when I can squeeze in more hours, when I work 12 hours a day, 5 days a week at my current job.
