Scratch build : Project : Sors Salutis
Intro:
Hello there my friends again, I am back for our fourth journey through the magic world of modding!
I named this project inspired by Carl's Orff famous song Carmina Burana.
Sors Salutis means fade is against me.
The project will be as you already realised a scratch build mainly composed by acrylic and wood.
The colours will be white, black (wood) and red.
2 different compartments will host:
no 1 - motherboard, psu, hdd, dvd-rom, reservoir and
no 2 - radiators, pump
These 2 compartments will be removable for easier transfer.
After countless hand drawings and different concepts I came up with this final design
which you will see unfolding through my updates day after day as I will work as fast as I can
to finish this project as soon as possible.
I tried to stay out of the normal "box" style case and hopefully you will all like it at the end!
Enough with this little intro, let the journey begin!!! :)

So to give you a clue how the build will look like here is the front (many things will be added though etc)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC080028.jpg
And here is the back side:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC080035.jpg
These are some of the acrylic main pieces I am going to use:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC080040.jpg
More of them! The clear acrylic will be used for illuminating by red leds.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC080042.jpg
So lets begin with the modding! I will use different kind of wood as you will see.
For the clear acrylic covers I am going to use a 3 mm marine plywood.
Here I draw the covers on the wood to be cut later on.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC090052.jpg
For my previous experience this particular piece of wood cannot be cut with a jigsaw as its very thin and it chips off very easily
but I am going to use it to make the big cuts and then find a way to do the details.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC090054.jpg
First I used this blade which it was a fails so I changed it with a blade I use for metal.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC090057.jpg
First piece removed!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC090060.jpg
Second phase!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC090062.jpg
The only way for me to cut the wood with damaging it, it was the dremmel! Time wasting process and a lot of burning wood smell lol !!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC090064.jpg
By using a bit for carving wood I did the round parts which I first drilled.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC090066.jpg
Then it was time for the sanding drum to come in action.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%201/PC090069.jpg
For the final touch I attached the acrylic part with the wood to file it and make them fit together perfectly.
Here are the (almost) final shots for the covers.

Here is the update as I promised!
Not much done due to bad weather but I worked in between the rain "sections" lol !!
I will be quick so lets go!
First I did some work inside (my room is my workshop for the people they dont know me!)
with the clear acrylic which I am going to use along with the red leds.
I didnt like the edges of the acrylic after the laser cut cause they had a "wavy" texture so I choose to dull them and also the surface of them, to help the light "travel" lol ;)
I went from 180 grit, to 300 and finally with 600 grit. The finish is almost perfect
I took some super macro shots but you can barely see any lines from the sandpaper.
I did 2 pieces, 2 more left for tomorrow!
Here is the original "after laser" wavy edge:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%202/PC130018.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%202/PC130019.jpg
And after my work:

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%202/PC140008.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%202/PC140015.jpg
I also glued the radiator and motherboard holders by using acrylic cement glue.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%202/PC140017.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%202/PC140020.jpg
So now lets talk about the side panels. First off all they wont be removable but they will open upwards and the left compartment will open downwards. I will mainly use wood like plywood, cylinder 1.2cm pieces and 1mm flexible one. You will see more in the progress so be patient and stay tuned.
So I will use plywood to create 2 support pieces for each panel, that they will hold the cylinder pieces together and also they will be used as hinges.
First some drawings on the wood by using the main acrylic pieces.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%202/PC100009.jpg
And some pictures from the cutting progress step by step:

Attached the piece on the acrylic to "fine" it with the file and some sandpaper.

Here we go with the third update.
My attempt on the side panel failed completely as the flexible wood part proven to be not so durable even I was going to add a second layer on it. And because of that I am changing my plans to acrylic pieces plus the wood cylinders.
Here you will see the progress.
First I finished sanding the main 2 side panel holders.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC140001.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC140002.jpg
Then I reinforced them with some isopon which was also used to cover some minor imperfections.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC140003.jpg
Sanding again!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC150023.jpg
Here I mark the pieces of flexible 1mm pine wood.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC150025.jpg
Preparing some epoxy glue.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC150026.jpg
I attached the piece with some "temporary screws".
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC150027.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC150028.jpg
It might seems nice but my experience says that its better to build something durable instead of nice looking and very fragile.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC150029.jpg
Here I dulled the 2 remaining clear acrylic pieces. 2 and a half hours to get that perfect look on the edges!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC140004.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC140019.jpg
To open the side panels I am going to use an aluminium tube 1cm which is going to be held in place with 2 solid acrylic tubes of 0.9cm. I had to file down the 2 parts so they wont be tight, to be able to insert and remove the aluminium tube in order to remove the side panel.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%203/PC160032.jpg
Here you can see them attached on the case parts and also on the removable parts too.

So as you have seen I aint a guitar maker lol to be able to bend wood like a pro but that wont stop me from searching alternative ways to achieve perfection in what I do.
Thanks for reading my worklog guys, till next time, peace!!

I wish I was good at 3d moddeling but unfortunately I am not so if you watch my previous worklogs this is the way I do it! I draw most of the designs on paper and next some 2d designs in Corel for the laser/cnc machines and the rest are in my mind! :)

12-18-2010, 06:37 AM
After my failed "wood" experiments I told my self is the acrylic way now!
So I draw the designs in Corel Draw and send them over to my friend Chris to cut them with the
laser. While I was waiting I had to do some more work which proved fail again OMG!!
First I drilled some holes to attach the screws later, on the tube holders.
So far so good!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC160002.jpg
Then I start sanding the pieces. I was just sanding that piece, I was using any force then that happened!!! And its 5mm acrylic!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC160003.jpg
Also one of the tube holders broke in half too, but I tried to be calm and move on with some more work!
I drilled the holes for the leds on the bezel and the clear acrylic.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC170010.jpg
The next day my pieces were ready even though I didnt expected them so soon as the laser machine had some serious problems but thanks God they managed to fix it and here is the "acrylic way"!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC170014.jpg
I first filed and sanded each piece to get ready for the cement glue.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC170018.jpg
Then I used some clamps to hold the pieces together and carefully I glued them.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC170019.jpg
Here is the first piece finished and you might get an idea how is going to work as a side panel support.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC170021.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC170023.jpg
All the pieces glued together. You might think "why the hell he didnt just cut 1 cm acrylic from the first place". The price of the 1 cm was 5 times more than the 5mm one so that way I saved my self 100 Euro. If I had the money though I wouldnt get in that trouble...
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC170025.jpg
I dulled the pieces too for further gluing and painting.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC170026.jpg
Here I glued the 1mm acrylic on the supporter. As you will see in the photos there is a 5 mm space left to cover the sides of the front and back bezels.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC170033.jpg
First 2 side panel supporters finished.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%204/PC180034.jpg

Time for one more small update and I say small cause I faced some difficulties again
not something to be ashamed off but some experiments tend to fail sometimes!
First I finished bending and gluing the acrylic on the second side panel's supporters/hinges.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%205/PC180002.jpg
Then I marked them where I had to cut the excess piece.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%205/PC180004.jpg
Sanding time. In order to build the first compartment of this mod I had to sand the pieces first as I will paint some parts red later and also super gloss varnish them.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%205/PC200005.jpg
Here is a super macro shot of the first sanding process.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%205/PC200006.jpg
I made some mock ups of the windows out of white carton in order to mark the side panel afterward to be cut.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%205/PC210014.jpg
I marked the supporters first for the first and last window piece.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%205/PC210017.jpg
Cutting and finishing stages. I used a diamond disk which is the best for acrylic.

Time for the last update of this year guys!
I did some work on the first compartment of this mod as you will see.
I had to find a way to use acrylic in order to attach the bezel and back on the bottom part.
I didnt want to use plain angles for "art" reasons and also for extra durability.
So I created my own -more sturdy- angle by bending and somehow sculpting a piece of white acrylic. It took me 2 hours to create this piece!
Here is how it looked like first.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%206/PC210001.jpg
And after bending - sculpting (with various dremel bits)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%206/PC210003.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%206/PC210011.jpg
By using some epoxy glue I attached this piece on the bezel.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%206/PC210013.jpg
While I was waiting for the glue to dry I decided to fix the window mocks so they will give an extra 5mm space to hide and attach behind the panel.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%206/PC210019.jpg
Then I bended some acrylic to angles and also did the second piece which is going to hold the back piece of the case.

Here is the wood pieces I am going to use!
These are only the half of them!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%206/PC270085.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%206/PC280002.jpg
Half way through the first panel. More to follow around 5 January.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%206/PC280005.jpg
I also noticed after more than one month that the motherboard i/o part of the motherboard is reversed due to my mistake on the original design! Now I have to disassemble the whole thing and order a new one!!! OMG!
Thanks for reading my worklog guys, I wish you all the best for the year to come but above all
health, love and consciousness in your lives! Till next time, peace!

Time for one more update folks! :) Happy and Healthy New Year to Everyone!
The endless journey on the side panel continues! The designs change all the time as my improvisation "angel" is messing with my mind!
At first I glued the round wooden pieces as you saw in my previous update.
The weight of the side panel exceeded my expectations so I had to remove as much wood as I could and replace it with 1mm acrylic which is very light.
Many people ask me for 3d designs etc, as you might have realize I enjoy improvise a lot as I did with my first 2 mods.
So lets begin our random little "photo" journey!
Here is the addition of the rest "wood".
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%207/PC290002.jpg
I cut a lot of pieces after I draw in my mind the upcoming design and I also left some "strategically" placed pieces for durability.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%207/PC290007.jpg
And here is the main side panel chassis.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%207/PC290010.jpg
I added 1mm acrylic on the back side for aesthetic and durability reasons.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%207/P1010012.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%207/P1010015.jpg
While I was waiting for the glue to dry, I attached the connectors of the second compartment.
As I told you before the second compartment it will be removable so I decided to use screws for that instead of "slide in" mechanism which was my original idea.
I used a plastic welder glue which so far is working great (crossing fingers)!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%207/P1030022.jpg

Thanks brother! Hope so too!! :)
Time for a small update guys!
I added the rest of the 1 mm acrylic on the side panel.
It wasnt an easy task as I had to bend a little, glue it then bend a little more etc etc.

I used the mock ups for the windows to draw the outline in order to be cut later.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%208/P1040004.jpg
I also draw a line in the middle of the windows to align them perfectly and also add later a wooden dowel for extra support .
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%208/P1040005.jpg
Next day morning I cut the windows by using the diamond disk. I finished the process with sanding drum and some filing.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%208/P1050006.jpg
They might look a little ugly right now cause you can see the glue etc but I have a lot more to do like sanding adding decoration elements etc.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%208/P1050008.jpg
I also glued the second department supporters which they will be used to hold the bottom plate in place.

You know what time it is! Time for an update!
Lets start with the work I did these days.
Heat gun, burned fingers and the windows are bended and ready!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%209/P1060002.jpg
Next is the assembly of the second compartment which is going to house the radiators, the pump etc.
I used epoxy but then I saw that it wasnt strong enough to hold these pieces together even if was going to add screws later on, so I went with Plastic Welder.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%209/P1060007.jpg
Then it was time to add the screws for the main compartments angles and supporters, glue its just not enough. I also countersunk the holes by using the countersink bit for metal as it works like a charm!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%209/P1070009.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%209/P1080015.jpg
I also had to cut a small piece from the side panel supporters cause the panels couldnt open as it was interfering with the 5mm acrylic on the sides.

Here we go with one more update!
A lot of work, more to follow but things are going good for now!
Lets begin right away with the work I did on the second side panel.
A t first I glued a wooden rod on the chassis as a mock up for the side panel.
Then I started cutting and gluing the rods, a long and time wasting process.....
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1100001.jpg
I calculated the space needed for ventilation due to the radiators exhausting hot air,
so I cut the rods in the right size and I also took in count the extra acrylic etc I was going to add.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1120012.jpg
I draw some designs on the 1mm acrylic for the first piece I was going to add on the panel.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1130013.jpg
After I cut it, I glued it on the side panel.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1130016.jpg
I also made a design on the second piece, I cut it, filed it and glued it.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1130017.jpg
Time for more designs based on simple half circle concept to be but for extra ventilation.
It looks messy cause I was experimenting with a couple alternative solutions!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1140018.jpg
And dremel in action again!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1140019.jpg
After I finished filing, sanding the front pieces it was time for me to add the mesh.
I used 2 different kinds of mesh, one with bigger holes than the other. Art is involved too! ;P
For maximum durability I used a Byson universal adhesive which I used not to only glue but to create a kind of crust between the plastic and the mesh which is holding them together really tight.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1150021.jpg
Here is the finer mesh I used. I cut it into the right shape and then by gluing little by little I firmly attached it too.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1150022.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1150023.jpg
And here is the side panel almost finished as it needs more sanding and also, painting!!! lol
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1160025.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1160027.jpg
I also added a thumbscrew to hold it in place!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1160029.jpg
Here you can see the extra ventilation on the bottom, the same thing I did on the left side panel.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1160032.jpg
And here is how it looks on the back.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1160005.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2010/P1160006.jpg
Off course it needs more sanding etc and after painting it will change completely! Now I need to buy my self an airbrush!! If anyone knows a good UK store I can find one but with shipping to Cyprus please msg me! Thanks for watching guys, till next time, peace!!!

Update no 11 guys and we move on!
Lets see what I did these few days.
First off all, the installation of the rad holders.
Measured the right distance between them as they will be "sandwiched" (lol killer term!) .
Marked the holes as I will use both screws and glue for maximum durability.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1160003.jpg
Drilled the holes and also countersunk them on the bottom.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180019.jpg
Some glue, screws and voila, done!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180022.jpg
Then it was time to cut 4 pieces from white acrylic which I am going to attach on the main compartment to hold together the 2 pieces. (main + watercooling)
First I draw the outline on the acrylic.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1160005.jpg
Oh my trusty dremel, my great helper!! ;)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180006.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180007.jpg
Then I used the vise to hold them together in order to sand them/ file them.
After 20 minutes I finished that step!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180009.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180010.jpg
Time for some drilling! I also tapped threads on the acrylic for the 10mm screw, just to hold it in place.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180014.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180015.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180017.jpg
Finished!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180018.jpg
I decided to put an extra screw on each of the supporters which are holding the chassis of the second compartment.
The head of the screws are not going to be visible as I will cover them later with isopon.
The screws are only for extra durability and safety.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180024.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180025.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180026.jpg
After that, I glued the remaining back piece of the main compartment. I used plastic welder
which is really really strong and I advise you if you are going to use it first make sure that you are not gluing something wrong as it is impossible to fix it later on!
I am talking from my experience as you will see in an upcoming update.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2011/P1180028.jpg
After it dried I decided to take some pictures with the side panels on just for you to get an idea what I am up to!! Hope you are going to like it even if its too late yet.

Time for a bigger update this time, full with errors, art and off course ... progress!!
First off all, the disaster cause by plastic welder for being so strong in bonding plastics (duh)
and my bad luck cause I took 110 per cent precautions for not doing any mistakes on gluing the pieces together!
And after I tried with a million ways to take the two pieces apart here is what happened!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190003.jpg
There is nothing some fiberglass cant fix! I dont bother cause as I told in a previous update I am going to sand and paint the case again as the white acrylic is somehow see through and this I dont like.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190005.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190007.jpg
While the fiberglass was drying, I went back in the room to start drawing the extra designs for the main side panel.
I used 1mm clear acrylic.
First some measures and main marks.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190008.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190009.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190010.jpg
Out again for some cutting and filling! I also used various dremel bits for the details!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190011.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190014.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190021-1.jpg
After a couple of hours the fiberglass was completely dried and I filled it. The details and more sanding etc will be at the very end before the painting!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190022-1.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190023-1.jpg
I also tested the screws that are going to hold the two compartments together!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190025-1.jpg
I created a supporter for the main case out of acrylic. I attached it by using both screws and glue.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190026-1.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1190030-1.jpg
Time to move on with the side panels artistic addition! A lot of filing and sanding as you see!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1200032-1.jpg
Also used this bit for the details.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1200035-1.jpg
More designs and also cutting and filling!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1210036-1.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1210038-1.jpg
I attached the design with some cement glue.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1210041-1.jpg
Yes, indeed, moooooore dremel action, filing and sanding!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2012/P1210046-1.jpg

Update no 13 guys!!
I didnt do a lot of things these days cause I had some other jobs to do and also I wasnt in the
mood due to daily problems...
So!!
Lets begin!
First of all some more artistic designs! I created that small window/design so you can see the reservoir which will be right behind!!
Designing is always the first step!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1240002.jpg
Cut it by using a diamond edge disc perfect for acrylic.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1240003.jpg
Used this dremel bit for the details.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1240006.jpg
And after a looooot of filing and sanding here is the outcome!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1240007.jpg
Later on I decided to create the main side panel's holder.
Long ago I went and purchased some hydraulic door openers which at the end they were way too strong to be used with this mod so I had to create something by my self.
Many ideas but finally I decided to make something simple yet functional.
I used 5mm acrylic and a lot of fantasy :)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250015.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250018.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250020.jpg
And here it is finished!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250021.jpg
Drilled a hole and also countersink it for perfect fit.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250024.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250028.jpg
Little space left just enough to use a plastic ring later to make the movement a little stiff as I dont want this to cause any kind of vibrations and unwanted extra sound lolz!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250030.jpg
Drilled a hole on the chassis and tapped it. Testing complete!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250033.jpg
I also created some stoppers for the side panel and the chassis. I attached it by using some epoxy glue (not plastic welder lol)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250034.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250037.jpg
And here you can see that is stiff enough to move freely and loose around!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250039.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2013/P1250040.jpg
I also drilled and tapped a hole the side panels screw to hold it in place! Strange placement isnt it? :P

I do. This is crazy and not what I expected. I think that's what I like about it the most.
It turned out much bigger than I was expecting. What is all the extra room in the bottom part for?

Thanks buddy!!
Well if you mean the bottom part of the main compartment, there is going to be a reservoir,
the intake fan and probably ssd or hdd's. I am not sure though yet as this mod is half pre-designed and half improvisation!!! :)

So after 2 and a half hours messing with my corrupted JPEG files, I finally managed to fix them
and make this update a reality!!!
Lets begin with my first failed attempt to create a DVD holder/stand.
The following -with no comments- images are from the designs, cutting, filing and changing my mind process!!! :)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0306.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0312.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0313.jpg
The main reason for abandoning the first idea was a broken small acrylic piece but also a quick change in plans! And here is the new design-idea . I decided to use the piece from the bezel that broke a month ago and create something out of this.
And here is what I created ! The DVD is going to be attached later on by using screws or double face I am not sure yet!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0315.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0316.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0327.jpg
While I was looking at the main side panel wondering what else I have to do, I found out that I must create something to be able to grab it and open the panel. So I came up with a simple idea which is not yet done but here are the first steps!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0320.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0321.jpg
After a looot of filing and sanding I attached it (for now as I am going to use isopon later)
by using some plastic welder!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0323.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0324.jpg
Next step! I had to create something to hold the fan controller in place as I was going to use the pcb only without the casing. Something neat was in my mind and what is better from 2 tiny acrylic legs??? Nothing!!! So lets do this too!
I had some spare 1 cm acrylic pieces which I decided to massacre them and do my thing lol!
First I measured the height with this simple method.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0329.jpg
Then I took in count the length of this stand offs.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0330.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0332.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0333.jpg
After a lot of filing (again!) I created these designs -something like hexagon- one bigger than the other due to a plastic from the chassis that was interfering with one of them.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0334.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0339.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0340.jpg
Some threads for the stand offs.....
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0343.jpg
And here we are!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0346.jpg
I glued them with the usual suspect (yes plastic welder) and enough for today!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2014/File0348.jpg
Thanks for reading my worklog guys, till next time, peace and love!!

Here I am again guys with one more update!
This time it will be completely dedicated to the modification of the Swiftech's MCP-655 pump!
First I was going to build a stand only but then after my accidental discovery of a guide on a site about modding the pump's threads, I decided to mod it further!
So lets begin this update with the first steps of the stand's creation.
I used two 1cm acrylic pieces which I had spare (a part from one of them was used for the fan controller's feet). One was bigger than the other so I created a modern design in my mind and after a lot of filing I managed to bring them in the desired shape/size!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1280011.jpg
I marked the pieces for drilling the screws by using the "see through" technique lol. Thats why I didnt sand the pieces completely yet!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1280012.jpg
Pieces drilled and countersunk.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1280013.jpg
Then I used titanium to close the pump's holes in order to create new threads for smaller screws!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1290016.jpg
Here is the pump completely dismantled.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1300018.jpg
First by using a hand saw I removed the excess fitting pieces.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1300021.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1300023.jpg
Then I filled them to make an even surface for preventing any future leakages.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1300025.jpg
Drilled the holes in order to fit the tap. Is good to use smaller bits and move slowly to the last.

Testing!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1300031.jpg
Prior to painting the pieces had to be sanded first for better results even though I was going to use paints from Hammer which they are really strong, I just had to do this properly!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1310034.jpg
Here you will see the first of the many steps of the painting and my techniques I used which unfortunately I will not show in pictures but on the final video. I used new techniques which I will reveal only some of the steps for my personal reasons....

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1310036.jpg
Here I sanded the plastic piece too and prep'd it for painting, this particular piece it will be a mixture of spray and brush painting.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1310041.jpg
Preparing the bottom piece of the stand!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2015/P1310042.jpg
And here are the pieces after 24 hours. I used a different technique for each piece, if you have "clever" eyes you will notice the difference! :)

Its time for our 16th update guys!!!
First some random pictures of the pumps stand for you to see the texture of my painting
technique in a little more detail!!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2016/P2040046.jpg
I decided to attach the DVD rewriter with screws eventually so I marked the stand and drilled some holes and voila!! DVD stand - done!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2016/P1280003.jpg
Here you see the clearance between the DVD rom and the stand for me to add some anti vibration rubber later on!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2016/P1280005.jpg
Next step - motherboard i/o plate. Marked for the holes to be drilled. The motherboard plate will be attached from the inside also no screw heads will be visible as I will hide me by using isopon so only the threads will be visible which they will hold the panel with nuts.

Cutting the screws to the right size.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2016/P2030004.jpg
And here it is attached for now as I will paint everything and then assemble them back.

As you can see I began working on the side panel as I will smooth some imperfections with isopon and add more details. This will take a while....

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2016/P2030036.jpg
I sanded the bracket in order to paint it. All my efforts gone wasted even if I tried so many different paints and primers nothing could stay on this bracket lol! :) So I sanded it again and polished it and I gave up as I didnt want to go to the powdercoater for that small piece only!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2016/P2040037.jpg
I also sanded the plastic piece with 270 grit and used isopon to cover the letters as my painting technique would mess them, making the partially visible.

After a loooot of work I decided to post an update even though I wanted to finish my work on the side panel which it seems endless. , in order to post the final shot before painting.
It will take a lot of time to be finished but lets check out what I did these days on Sors Salutis.
First I added some anti-vibration feet on the pumps stand.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2070096.jpg
By using isopon, I filled the gaps between the wooden rods and the acrylic.
I used a very small carving tool in order to manage to fill these little gaps and it took me well
over 2 hours only to fill them.
I also used some isopon to smooth the transition from the plastic parts on the wood.
This process its not the final as I need to sand again, fill any imperfections again, sand and I will repeat these steps as much as I have to till I manage a good finish.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2080105.jpg
I used 2 different kinds of fiberglass in order to give the side panel more durability and also to create the textures I had too. These process is very very difficult as you will see and it takes days for it to finish.
First layer of the main fiberglass technique.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2090108.jpg
Filled the edges with more fiberglass.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2090110.jpg
Added on the bottom part too.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2090111.jpg
Creating the patterns and texture effect with a dremel and sanding drum.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2090113.jpg
Sand it with the mouse sander. As you have might noticed I am wearing gloves as the fiberglass is really dangerous for the skin and also becomes itchy. Respiration mask for protection from the huge amount of dust too.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2100115.jpg
Added the 4th layer of fiberglass!!! Here you will see how I work in order to achieve the desired texture effect.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2100118.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2100119.jpg
Also I worked on the other side panel to create this texture. Along with some new painting techniques and old ones, I will create something new and different.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2100120.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2100121.jpg
More work!!! Added isopon where I had to, sanded it, added some more and sanded it again!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2110122.jpg
I cut the 3 pieces between the windows in a simple design to separate the texture from the middle simple part of the side panel.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2110125.jpg
Final work on the top part and texture.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2110133.jpg
Here you will see (not finished though) how the 2 parts of the side panel with the different texture effects look like for now as I have to work on the details for many days yet.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2110136.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2110137.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2017/P2110138.jpg
And here is my "artistic" work I did, to create the reservoir holder. I was among many designs but I finally choose this, as it was the most simple and functional.
I draw the main lines on a 5mm white acrylic and cut it by using a diamond disk bit on the dremel.

I worked more when I went back inside home with the smaller files but I forgot to take some
pictures.

18th update guys and lets roll!!
For the main compartments 14cm fan I choose to use 4 long crews which they are going to be "embedded" on the chassis, as I countersunk the heads and also used isopon to cover them so they wont be visible from the outside, a method I am using for almost all the screws.
First I marked the holes.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2140001.jpg
Driiled and tapped.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2140002.jpg
Countersink holes.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2140003.jpg
Testing before adding isopon to cover the screw heads.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2140005.jpg
And here is a shot from the interior, as you see this is the method I came up to attach the fan on the chassis.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2140008.jpg
Some work I did on the side panel. I filled these tiny imperfections and gaps with isopon.
Sanding and fixing for eternity!!!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2140014.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2140015.jpg
I know that it might seems ugly right now but there are a lot to fix/sand before its ready for painting!
For the second compartment's fan I had to remove completely the fans frame due to the led placement and create a new custom one!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2150016.jpg
I used the frame to start creating the design. 5mm acrylic was used.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2150017.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2150019.jpg
And here is the cutting/finishing process.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2150020.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2150021.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2150022.jpg
At first I cut the frame in that design but later on I found that idea not so professional and changed the plans to something neater and more beautiful.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2150023.jpg
Filling and sanding! :)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2018/P2150024.jpg
So I decided to use these standoffs instead. They are going to be attached on the chassis in threaded holes and I will use nuts to hold the stand in place. All the nuts on the chassis will be covered at the very end with some MDPC caps.

Time for a new update!
I am going slow though as I need some pieces done by the cnc and I dont have ANY money right now
not even for cigarettes lol! I will try to work on some other things I have to do and forget my pitiful-no money life!
So lets begin!
First off all I installed some cable management clips by MDPC many more to follow!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2160001.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2160003.jpg
I also worked on the side panel's part where the biggest window is gonna be installed so for it to sit flush.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170006.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170007.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170013.jpg
A lot of sanding and fixing for the side panel but not yet finished!!! Just a quick pick. ;P
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170012.jpg
I also engraved a pattern on all the wooden rods on the front. This took me like 3 hours with the sanding. With the black paint it will look nice I believe! :)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170016.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170017.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2180032.jpg
I was thinking a long time now about the creation of a supporting mechanism for the main compartment for extra stability and durability due to its original design, the compartment wasnt stable enough. So I went with the idea of a removable piece that it will allow me to remove or install any graphic cards in the future, even though its placement wont interfere with any of the components.
So for that creation I am gonna use a wooden rod as the main piece of the supporter, along with some steel angles I ve found on a DIY store which suited me just fine with a little modification for my work. I dunno their proper name even in my language so forgive me about that!
So the first step was measuring the exact distance on the left and right part in order to fit the angles and that wasnt easy at all, it took me around 45 minutes to achieve the perfect height and angle as this compartment its not 90 degrees straight up as you might realized!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170020.jpg
Threads for the steel angles holes.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170021.jpg
And here it is installed!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170022.jpg
Marking the wood for the holes to be drilled later on.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170024.jpg
The little insertion point on the steel angle is designed in a way that is perfect for the wood in order to fit tight and not be loose.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170025.jpg
Fitted!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170026.jpg
I also modified some cable management clips in order to create some flexible and removable caps for aesthetic reasons mostly!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170029.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2019/P2170030.jpg
And here is my new fan holder design which I am going to cut on the cnc when I find some money.

Brothers I am back for one more update on this mod!
So lets get started.
First of all, I will show you some pictures of the AX850 Power Supply from Corsair I am going to use.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2210025.jpg
Installation of the main compartment's side panels.
First I marked where the connectors are for me to cut them later and also where the tubing will pass
and the extra cables.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2210001.jpg
These are the pieces that they will hold the side panels with 3mm screws.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2210025.jpg
I "weld" them on the chassis! ;)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2220029.jpg
And here you see the side panels "screwed" on the chassis! :)
There is extra space around the connectors for easier access and installation. That space will be covered later on with some acrylic which I am going to cut on the cnc. Also I am going to use different screws, I just wait for them to come in my mailbox! You also see in the right upper side a little cut, this is for me to pull the side panel out.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2230032.jpg
I painted the psu backplate and the motherboard i/o thingy! It took me 3 days for each one due to the techniques I used. For finishing touch I used an acrylic clear coat by applying 3 layers.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2230037.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2230039.jpg
For this part I used also the "texture" technique as you might notice.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2230041.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2230044.jpg
Next I aligned the motherboard on the tray in order to mark the holes for the motherboard standoffs. After that I realized that I dont have enough standoffs and now I am in search of some!! OMG!!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2230046.jpg
Next I decided to install the cpu waterblock. For that I am going to combine 2 different mounting sets, one from Alphacool and one from Phobya.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2240047.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2240048.jpg
The backplate is from Watercool as you can see.

Some cleaning!! :)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2240051.jpg
And yes, this baby is lapped!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2240052.jpg
And here it is installed!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2020/P2240056.jpg
Next step: Installation of the PSU. The psu backplate wasnt enough durable to hold the psu in place so extra support was needed. The stands I had from before were too small and "simple" so I improvised again and created a stand which is going to work as a fan grill too. It took m3 3 hours to finish it cause I wanted to create something artistic and... crazy! :)

Update no 21 and we move on!!
It takes me several days to post an update due to the complexity of my painting techniques and the amount of time needed for the paint to dry.
So lets begin our update in a random order.
First I had to cut off a piece from the motherboard tray as it was conflicting with the top support bar.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010001.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010010.jpg
I removed the tops from the waterblocks as I decided to paint them too as they were not contrasting right with the already painted cpu block.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010002.jpg
Isopon to remove the letters.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010003.jpg
Sanding complete and also thread protection added. I used some round stickers in a random way to create a design as you are going to see later on this update and also to protect the screw threads.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010007.jpg
After the 5 first steps of the technique. This process takes one working day.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010011.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010012.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010014.jpg
Next day I add the textured lines.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010015.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010016.jpg
As I told you in the previous update I couldnt find any spare motherboard stand offs so I decided to make some custom ones out of ...... a pen!!! I ve found a pen in the perfect size and also sturdy enough for the job! I ve cut equal size pieces, filled, sanded and then I embedded them on the motherboard tray by melting them with cement glue.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010018.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010025.jpg
Here is my custom cover for the fan controller. I installed a 1mm acrylic window so you can see the pcb of the controller!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3010004.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3020054.jpg
After I ve found some money I went to my friend Chris and cut on the cnc some designs which among them its this custom fan frame.
Its designed in a way that will fit with the ventilation design (fan grill).
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3020059.jpg
I had to cut a circle though to cover the fan.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3020026.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3020027.jpg
In order to file the circle perfectly I had to redo the circle design by using a compass set along with a red pen.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2021/P3020029.jpg
I glued the circle on the frame and attached the fan with some double sided tape.

Some of the parts I cut on the cnc were those Π shaped covers to hide the gap around the attachment holes.
I ve glued them on the panels with some cement glue.

quick question on this stunning mod, are you losing more than a negligible amount of air movement when you removed the shrouds from the fans?

Thanks bro!

Nice question. In fact the airflow is more less-restrictive as it gathers air from the sides where the frame used to be. Off course the fan must be as close as the ventilation hole in order to push the air in or out. If people are interested I might design and cut some frames on the cnc and sell them through my website!

Time for one more update my friends!
I had to paint each component on the motherboard that didnt fit right, so the two
components were the GPU and the Corsair airflow.
First I disassembled the airflow for the ram and got that ready for painting.

Thanks for reading my update guys, see you soon with a new update! Peace!
I think the major effect of the shroud-less design will be a decrease in thrust. Using a shroud-less fan on a radiator or with a filter will most likely completely negate airflow. The majority of a fans force is generated in the gap between the fan tip and the shroud. Might be wrong but pretty sure I read a technical journal on this for a report.

Yes nice observation bro, the only drawback I am going to have though its on the main compartment were the space of air circulating is longer and bigger, in the second compartment were the radiators are I think it wont be such a problem as 4x 14cm fans will push air too. I will go with the aesthetics though ;)
Of course, its modding, fun sometimes wins over function :)

Indeed!!!! :D

There are 2 spare holes on the gpu for screws I might gonna use those.
There are no real drawbacks as the top wont decrease heat dissipation and for it to bend due to heat its almost impossible as the top temperature of this card its 60 degrees Celsius on a summer day after a lot of intense gaming and on overclocked settings! ;)

Yeah I update like a madman cause I gotta finish this project asap!
I usually finish many parts before I update but my rhythm doesnt all me that.
Lets begin !
I had to cut the wires from the radiator fans in size, cause they were a lot bigger.
No more soldering this time as I purchased some fan crimp connectors.
Measured each fans exact wire length and cut them in size.

Wires sleeved in red and white sleeving. White sleeving isnt perfect as its stated in MDPC site too but I didnt have any white tape to use with the cables so it does the job for me as it is too.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2023/P3080016.jpg
Next I had to do a support bracket for the motheboard tray for many reasons. The weight of the motherboard along with the graphic card exceeded the 3 kgs and also the weight pressure point its not horizontal or vertical as in most cases but something like 45 degrees so I had to find ways to share the weight pressure along the case so it wouldnt bend anything and cause further problems.
5mm white acrylic again with a lot of fantasy and planning.
I draw the main design on the acrylic, cut it with dremel and filed it afterwards.

Well after a long time and a looooot of work I am here for an update guys!
The strange weather (one day rain one sunshine) was a big problem for me as I had to paint and not
only paint a few layers but I also had to apply different art painting techniques!
But first lets see what I did before painting.
I drilled some holes on the acrylic parts which I am going to use along with the leds and I also countersunk them. I decided to use screws in order to attach those parts on the chassis instead of glyu as it will be cleaner that way.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3100036.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3100037.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3100038.jpg
Second, I installed the HDD cage on the main compartment.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3110054.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3110055.jpg
Here you will see the creation of the part which is going to illuminate the Sors Salutis logo.
I used 5mm clear acrylic which I cut in the proper shape and also drilled holes on the side for the leds.
I glued 1mm acrylic on the edge of the acrylic to hide the leds for aesthetic reasons mostly and also not to deflect the light inside the case. I painted the piece with the usual design pattern I am using in this mod and I also shortened the cables and sleeved them.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3140063.jpg
I sanded and painted the PCI covers too but I forgot to take pictures lol, sorry guys these days were a real mess!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3140061.jpg
Some more sleeving. I also cut some more leds in size, soldered them and sleeved them. I couldnt find any pins nearby to buy so I had to go that way :(

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3160077.jpg
I used a black matte decal to cover the PSU after I removed the stickers of it.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3150070.jpg
So now the nightmare of this mod lolz!! Due to the weather conditions I had to move the parts around all the time and each layer of paint took 24 hours even to be touch-dry!!! OMG!!
After I ve sanded all the parts, I hanged them to dry. No lol I am kidding! :p
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3160079.jpg
The paints I am going to use. Well not all of them just the 1/3 !!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3160080.jpg
I went and bought some UVPC primer but the stupid guy on the DIY shop gave me the one which needs to be applied by brush and its not dilutable so to use it with my spray gun!!! Anyway, I went with the best primer which I use for aluminum and its suitable for acrylic BUT that primer after it dries it needs sanding!! So more sanding again lolz!!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3170086.jpg
I also prepared some paint for the wooden covers. Forgot to take shots of them finished but you will see them later. I applied 3 layers of black and 2 layers of glossy varnish.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3170087.jpg
Due to the rush as I told you before I forgot to take pictures so I also forgot the technique's process but here are some shots.
I used black and white glossy from Hammerite as they are very durable. I applied them with different sizes brushes.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2024/P3180089.jpg
In order to create the desired effect of my technique I had to "scratch" the paint thats why I had to apply more layers so the scratches will be deeper.

man, i gotta see this thing when it's done. i've read through the whole build and watch for updates, but i still can't wrap my mind around how it's going sit in place. which side is up and whatnot. and now, putting the feet on the angled piece has me more confused than the project managers at work.

Time for a new update as we are near the end... hopefully!
This is going to be a very random update as I work on the final touches, cable management, water cooling, extra details etc.
First some of the work I did on the main compartment of this mod.
Leds cut in size and installed. I forgot to take some pictures with the cable management finished but I will post them in another update.
The cable management will be done in an artistic way and also as neat as possible. Due to the mods theme the cables must be arty too!

In some of the screw nuts I used MDPC caps. The rest left uncovered for a different contrast in the overall design.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2025/P3280031.jpg
The "golf ball" texture technique. Its done by using a piece of newspaper. To finish the texture you need to use this technique 3 times in a row before the paint dries completely thats why I used paints that took longer to dry. Its applied on the side panels edges.

A technique which is applied only on heavily textured surfaces.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2025/P3280050.jpg
This is a technique where you have to scratch the paint underneath and paint over. To do that you have to apply at least 5 heavy layers of paint before so the scratches will be deeper so therefore the technique will be applied better!

Update no 26 guys and one step before the end!
The only thing left before I finish this mod is some cable customization and management so
my next update might be the final shots only.
Lets move one with this update!
First I realized that I painted the wrong side of the main compartments side panels, so I had to paint them again. I used black hammered paint for that technique.
I also decided to use only one panel, the one on the top, as the second is useless as it will be used only in transportations.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310001.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310002.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310003.jpg
I used this sharp piece of acrylic to draw some lines.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310005.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310007.jpg
Last step pf this process is to add some random quick pass white lines over the black.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310009.jpg
Back to the assembly of this mod. Reservoir, fans, some cable management, uv cold cathodes etc.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310010.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310011.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310013.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310014.jpg
I also found this UV led thingy and disassembled it for me to create something for the reservoir later on.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P3310015.jpg
I also had to create a cover for the GPU's bracket to cover a distance that was created due to the mods design and also add a different touch to it.
I used 5mm white acrylic for that which I painted later on.
I also tried to create a housing for the leds from 1mm acrylic which proved a fail in the process so I have to make something else!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4040018.jpg
Testing the side panel.... again!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4040020.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4040021.jpg
For the mods main support I am not going to use the wooden rod which I created at the first place, but instead I used an aluminum angle which I painted hammer black.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4040024.jpg

Sata power cable modification.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050033.jpg
My various connectors collection lol! :)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050035.jpg
Here I created a custom slimline sata power connector out of a normal sata power connector.
I cut it in half after I removed the middle pin so it will left with only two pins ( 6 in the interior)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050036.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050040.jpg
Attached the first sata power in the proper distance.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050042.jpg
Second one attached too.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050044.jpg
And the slimline power connector mod finished and sleeved!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050048.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050050.jpg
I also sleeved the two main hdd sata cables.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050051.jpg
Here is the PCI-E cable. It comes with 2 sleeved cables 6+2 pins each.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050052.jpg
I had to sleeve them all to reduce the clutter and also make the cable more compact .
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050053.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050054.jpg
I cut the cables in size and with the crimping tool I added new pins and later connectors.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050057.jpg
Some more random shots!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050062.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Sors%20Salutis/Update%2026/P4050063.jpg
I hope that you are going to like the "different approach" I used on this mod and the artistic touch.
Through my mods I ve shown that I can go in any direction I want, factory style or artistic but I prefer to be and create something different instead of the usual "one way" styles.
Thanks for your time guys and I really appreciate your feedback and support.

Agreed. The final product was way beyond my expectations and I've been following this build since the beginning. A phenomenally detailed build with a unique factor for sure. Great job!
Now that I know how it is, I need to find a mop.

Looking good bud. Lighting looks fantastic! And your cable magement is awesome.
Questions:
How are the fans? I'm looking for some good speed variable fans for my case and Rad.
Fan Controller: I'm sure you looked at several. Any suggestions on a 5.25" bay one?
What type of paint did you use? I'm looking to paint some peices of my case but don't really know any good quality paints. Something in a can would be nice or brush even, (only for small parts that I'm painting) And is the case paint the same as the paint you used on the water blocks? I pained my Green Light mod but I didn't like the outcome of cheap paint.
Can't wait to see you next update!
