I'll have a few questions since I am a noob modder. First, how do i get the plastic panels off of the case?

sledgehammer? ;)
Never having seen one of these before, I'd start by pulling off the side panel. From there, you should be able to see at least some of what's holding the other panels on. If they're screwed into the metal frame, it should be pretty easy, as long as you can fit a screwdriver in there. If they're clipped in, it might be harder - you may have to simultaneously push on a couple clips with flathead screwdrivers and carefully push at the same time to start getting a panel off.
Pretty cool looking case though - I'll be interested to see what you do with it.

It's clipped in.. and so it's such a pain! I only found out how to take off the front but it's wayyy too hard to do it alone. Just take a look at Skateboxx's I want mine practically the same maybe more in the future.

okay so i own a vento as well. (maybe you've seen my logs)
http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22198
on the side panels there are push tabs, push all the push tabs down (avoid the stand offs) and it'll slide backwards
if its the side with the crank deal, remove the screw on the gear (on the inside) the gear will pull off (its tabbed so it goes back in right) then the other knob will come off and then repeat as the other side goes.
beware, the front has two screws holding it in along the bottom OUTSIDE the case, you need a flat head screw driver to pop two tabs on the inside as well, kind of hard to get to and hard to spot but they are there.
the top is also hard to align with the front, so take your time if you take the top off.

Yes, I've definitely seen your logs and you got a great rig going there! it looks fantastic. I've been having major problems with the front, top and bottom but the sides come off fairly easily. I'll take a look into it tomorrow thank you!

I'm trying to replace the bottom lights on the vents since they are very dim. Anybody have recommendations on where to buy then? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

I made the vent on the back near the GPU but I can't seem to find the proper hole size for the modder's mesh. Does anyone know the hole size? I will post pics later

I know the work is shoddy... I need help with the vent hole. How do I smooth out the rough edges? Also, does anyone know the proper hole size? This is my first mod and probably my only mod so I would appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks guys.

sanding drum for a dremel tool would work great. so would some 80 or 120 grit sand paper.
Bigger the hole the better!

@Twigsoffury - I tried using the sanding drum for the dremel but it just burns up the plastic and melts it. I'll try sanding paper but I'm afraid that might leave white marks from the plastic?

Just get a hand file. You'll have better control as compared with paper. If you can't get a file, at least use a small sanding block with the paper such as a piece of wood or a dowel. Even at the lowest speed a Dremel will probably melt or warp the plastic after a short bit.
Also, just take the part with the holes with you to a hardware store and see which drill bits seem to fit the best. I do stuff like that all the time when I can't measure something accurately.

Set of hand files, definitely. Takes time, but you can get insanely good results if you do in fact take your time.

oh my bad i didn't know you were cutting on the back side of the outside panel. thought you were cutting on the inside metal panel.
Yea i'd use some small hand files. nice set is only like 10$ for a set and the bastard file (round one side, flat cornered on the other) makes nice corners and angles. You could even use masking tape around the edge of where your sanding and what not. that way it won't get accidental scratches.
Watch out about that textured black piece on the back, its not attached all to well to the other black panel.. well red panel on yours. you'll see its just melted rivets holding it together. those rivets will crack if you go man handleing it to bad, a couple of mined poped and i had to epoxy it back together.

Thanks guys... I'll try a hand filer. Does anyone have a clue about the hole size for the cover (circled in green)? I want it to be the same hole size as the one pictured (circled in blue).http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo238/jayc_hmmwv/ASUS%20Vento%203600/IMAG0027-edit.jpg

Sorry if I am unclear. I meant the hole size of the perforated metal not the size of the hole for the fan. I hope that clears things up and thanks so far!

on the original intake hole? or your new hole?
new hole i have no idea, can't exactly measure something from across the internet. a micrometer would do it though.
I'll bust out my micrometer and measure the metal plate on the intake hole though.. micrometer goes down to the thousandth.
