I know I missed plenty of things. Like fan filters. Will someone link me to anything I missed? Thanks! Also, check to make sure I have everything for a complete build? Also make sure it's all compatible and what not.

linky no worky lol. you don't need filters with the Phantom, its got them already. I may suggest getting a 200mm fan for the side intake and a 140mm fan for the front intake as well as they're not included

Hmmm. I made it public. How do you post it? It's called "Phantom Build".

Does that work?
Edit: I think that did it. Updated original link.

everything looks great. i would have gotten this drive tho for the price of that ssd. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148591 more space and its the fastest hd you can buy.
its the fastest hd you can buy.
Yeah, but that's the problem...it's only the fastest HDD. Still gets clobbered by the Vertex 2. ;)
Looks good Lothair. You will probably be tempted to add another Vertex 2 though. 60GB gets a bit tight.

It's really just for the OS and main programs. I should still have a good 20GB afterwards. That's why I did the 1TB @ 6GB/s.
How does the Vertex 2 perform against Hybrid Drives?

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to fit the side panel fan on if you have a Frio, it's very tall.
Check out this review of the Momentus XT. One of the drives they compare it to is a 100GB Agility 2, which has very similar performance to the Vertex 2 you got. In general, with comparably sized drives, the Vertex 2 will edge out the Agility 2 by a bit (as well as last a fair bit longer, they use longer life chips), but sometimes the higher capacity SSDs perform better than the lower capacity ones, idk how the deal is with the 60GB Vertex 2 vs the 100GB Agility 2.
To sum up, yes, the Momentus is amazing for a platter HDD...but the 100GB Agility 2 they compare it to soundly thrashes it at every turn.

Ah, good point. I guess we'll see, eh? Another issue I might have is with the ram. The heat spreaders might hit the heatsink. Might have to do a bit of modding with this build after-all.

What's the best air cooler on the market? Anyone know?
I think the consensus was the Cooler Master V6, but I haven't really touched air in a while.

i was under the impresion that the coolermaster hyper (~30) was beating out $90+ coolers
and wasnt knocked off until recently by 1 degree with a roughly $50 difference

I did a bit of research for 2010 coolers and the best one seems to be the ProlimaTech Megahalems. They tested a pretty large list of coolers too. But Frio wasnt in the list. So I googled the two together to see a direct comparison test and it seems like the Frio is better.

the frio will fit with a side panel fan. my brother in law has a phantom with a frio and the same side panel fan. he said it's mighty close though

Nice! What about RAM? Does he have any contact issues or can he see if there would be an issue or not? I'm worried I might have to either take off the heat spreaders or cut/bend the tops down so they fit.

This might be an odd question, I don't know anything about over-clocking, but apparently this board has an easy overclocking feature. So, with this gear, how high do you guys think I could safely run that processor at? I don't want to end up frying or breaking something. This build isn't exactly cheap. lol

I forget what he got for RAM, but I didnt hear anything about any clearance issues
