It's actually automatic but these pictures don't do it justice. It's awesome. I love the fact that you can see everything moving inside + the amount of detail they put into individual screws. The band looks terrible in these pics and doesn't show the inscribed branding. My gf knows me too well.

Automatic == self winding mechanical.

It's a great looking watch Buzz. That's on my list of things I would like to get myself eventually..though the fact that I haven't worn a watch in about 4 years does put a damper on any money I might want to spend on it... Personally I'd rather get an antique one though, but that's just me. :D

Very nice.

I've been looking at watches on Amazon. I want to get one that syncs the time with the atomic signal, but I still have a watch that works. I went swimming with the old Timex in hopes that it would die, but the darn thing is still functional.

http://www.worldofwatches.com has crazy deals sometimes.

I haven't worn a watch for around 10 years, I had an old school timex with the velcro straps and the velcro wore out before the watch itself did. I've been looking at them a lot lately so she picked one up for me, she was spot on with my taste.
