now that's something i havent seen before.
it should work from what i can see. its a switch, and so is the power button for any computer, so there's no reason why you cant just swap out the existing one for the military one.
too bad there isnt more information on it.

I've seen them used, but I believe it is a toggle switch, not a momentary, so might make for a little more work - to my knowledge you cannot just swap your existing power button out for this one.
It's cool, though, and would make a great addition to a military-themed case mod. It would work great as a fan or light switch.

I was going to say that, but I can't see any picture so I wasn't sure. Most if not all 'military' style switches are toggles though. It could be done, but you would have switch it on and back again, equivalent to pressing and releasing the standard power switch.
What you need is something like a 'fire' button. Flip open the cover and FIRE !

This is a heavy duty SPST switch
That switch would work great for case lights and fans.
You can't use it for power, it needs to be a 'momentary on' switch.
Go to http://www.digikey.com/ and search for "toggle" switches. then narrow it down by choosing the "mom-off-mom" type under "switch circut" should narrow you down to 80-ish choices. withthat type of switch you could wire it to power on/off in one direction and reset in the other.

Yeah it would work (though I won't go back over the problems of it being used as a power switch as many others already have) Here's another site with more information on it... just barely more information though http://www.frozencpu.com/ele-95.html
they've also got other styles with like carbon fibre looking covers and stuff... don't know if you were interested, or if xoxide had them as well

Sarcasm works better if you put it in quotes-"like this".
Or were you being serious? This is the one specific thing i get asked all the time; as often as 2 out of 3 questions i get sent are "How do i get a military toggle switch to work...etc."
Though it's a nice mod, and usually looks good, no matter how often it's done. Hope it turns out well!
(Slugtoy, hope that doesn't come across as insulting, i'm aiming for humerously cheeky here)

Does anyone sell the covers on their own? Seems a better idea to me, as customers could fit more appropriate switches.

just buy a switch with the cover and move it on to the switch you want. look closely. Its base is just a flat piece of metal with a hole for the switch's post to go through. match post diameters and your golden. You might even be able to make one yourself.
