Gigabyte is cooking up something awesome. It's called the G1 Killer, and it is slated to be the most advanced gaming motherboard ever. The details are very sketchy at the moment so even I do not know much about it.

I was just passed along some promotional materials for you guys. Click the link under each wallpaper to download a zip file containing several resolutions of that image.

Reminds me of VW promo adds...black profile...yes, that really tells me a lot about the product. :P

Heheh, hmmm, what would that be then? 11 PCIe x16 slots?

That would be incredibly disappointing and about as newsworthy as an elephant taking a nap.

It sounds as if you've seen the board already, though? How so if you have?

I hope to almighty bob it does not have a cheesy magazine clip heat-sink like it does in the promo photo. My eyes just might bleed uncontrollably if so. And I can't imagine that to be a good thing.

I don't think it will have 11 pci-e, nor bigger than the SR-1, judging by the ratio between the rear panel and the length of the board. The rear panel cutout is a standard size, so by the looks of it it seems like a standard ATX motherboard, just not the more narrow version that Gigabyte tends to make many of its boards.

I think I ready something about this the other day. 7 PCI-e x16 slots and a killer nic built in.

Not sure though.

Blaze, they do mention the G1 Killer boards at the end of the article. That board that the article is about is insane, I mean just think of the case that you would have to have to build it.

Hmm......ideas

I think there will be a case released that it will fit in as well. Kinda like the sr1 did. and yes the board is physically larger than the sr1 from what I have heard.

Hopefully it's not utter crap like the Rampage boards

I don't think anything coming out of gigabyte's fab houses these days are crap. IMO they will be taking over the mainboard industry this year. Maybe GPU as well.

Why do you say that? I've got the Rampage III Gene and it seems to be an utterly fantastic board. I've only had it for a very short while, though.

yeah from what ive been hearing around the inter webs that little ammo clip may very well be on the board as the heat sink...

50% of the ones we sell come back in less than 6 months. Same thing with the Asus Sabretooth motherboard.

I actually hope that it does come with the ammo mag. I think it would spark a ton of military themed mods. Count me in for one if they do an AMD version with the clip.

or maybe count you in to use it to finish the MW2 case :D

I'm gonna need a bigger case.

Do you know what the reasons are?

Also, is it the fault of the board or the fault of the consumer? These boards are so advanced compared to normal boards and the average person is generally a fool, it does seem to be a recipe for disaster. Then you research the board online, where people are slightly more technologically adept and the boards seem great.

My board for example has "easy overclocking". I can only imagine the ways that people are going to screw that up somehow. lol
