I guess I'm thinking like food combos. I got the idea after seeing Johanna's pregnancy cravings. I even tasted a few and they're ok.

I LOVE Indian food. Most of it looks like butt so most people shy away from it, but it is DELICIOUS.

Definitely. Same thing with Ethiopian...looks weird, eating method is weird, but I have yet to meet any that wasn't delicious.

There's an international food festival in Edmonton every year, and last summer I tried Ethiopian. Roast camel.. was suprisingly good!

Some people seem to think Scrapple is gross... It's by far the best thing ever.
Saw a girl on TV that dipped twinkies in Coca-cola. That sounds gross.

scrapple???
scrapple???
Hehehe, yup, scrapple (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrapple). :D Basically think of it like this:
Animal goes in to butcher shop
1) All proper meat cuts get taken away.
2) All 'delicacy' cuts get taken away (hooves, tongue, etc).
3) All the random, usable bits get taken away for sausage/etc.
4) Anything that's left gets ground up in tiny bits and compressed into a block...that's scrapple. :D
It sounds absolutely disgusting, but if you slice it real thin and pan-fry it, it's actually really good.

I agree. I've had Indian food and love it, and I recently had Ethiopian food in Little Ethiopia in Los Angeles for the first time. It was amazing!
As far as weird things go, my sister used to like taco sauce on BBQ'd salmon, and peanut butter on cold corn tortillas.

I sometimes do the BBQ sauce on the side with Mac-n-Cheese as well. Or sometimes a little bit of ketchup. The SO usually says "gross" and looks at me like I'm an alien. Not like I am putting it all over the top, just dipping a forkfull lightly into it.
Usually only happens when we try and do that as the main meal instead of as a side. I just don't like having the same flavor/texture as an entire meal.

Mac and Cheese with Tuna. or Hot Dog. or Beef.
...does anybody else just love that Hot Dog and Beef are two different things? lol
I also like that processed liver stuff that comes in the yellow round packaging. Slice it up, grill it with cheese, make a sandwich. Good stuff.

used to know a girl who would go to burger king and get a cheesburger, fries and strawberry shake.
she would dip the fries in the shake and eat, which i thought was pretty disgusting until i tried it. Was actually quite nice!
The cheesburger dipped in the strawberry shake on the other hand was really not nice!

This weekend I'll be attending Heritage Days in Edmonton Alberta, where they have international pavillions for food sampling.

Snake is tasty. And rabbit. Squid is ok occasionally. Went to a Christmas party with a buddy and they were running around with squid as appetizers and this place really knew how to make it right. Fantastic stuff. I ate way too much squid.
Not too big on entrails, tongue, brain or any other "leftover cat food" type items.

Only Aussies are allowed to eat our national emblem ;P
Additionally, Kangaroo Korma (tried it once) isn't something I'd recommend.... Also emu tastes like chicken crossed with turkey.

I feel special, this is my first thread anywhere that's ever been necro'd. I think it's time to celebrate with a smoked BBQ fatty. Anyone else love them?
