Gday TBCS

You may have seen it on your news but one of the states in Australia is taking a beating from floods. About 3/4 of the state of Queensland is a disaster zone. An area bigger then France and Germany and some, combined is under water.

So far 10 people have being killed and 90 are missing.

The capital city of Queensland, Brisbane a city of 2 million people is about to be submerged.

Some of the floods came as walls of water sweeping away cars. Here is a video that was on the news here and has gotten 900k views in less than 24 hours. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYUpkPTcqPY

Here is a CNN article
http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/01/11/australia.floods/index.html?hpt=T1

If you would like to donate money to help with the disaster recovery please go here http://telethon.smartservice.qld.gov.au/

Thank You

Note: Thankfully I myself live in the state of New South Wales and I am not directly affected. crenn & The boy 4rm oz live in Victoria and South Australia I believe so they should be ok.

The only good thing to say is that thankfullly there has not been more deaths considering the size/magnatude of this disaster.

hopefully this all goes back to normal soon. It sucks having no way to leave your house other than a boat(or get anything into the city at all, for that matter)

Yeah the Navy/Army/Air Force are using helicopters to rescue people and transport planes to move supplies. Apparently they have being landing C-130's on country roads and in fields as airports having been washed away.

Is this caused by seasonal storms? I'd hate to ever look out my window and see cars floating down the drainage ditch.

And the storms causing floods in Queensland is now in Victoria, only minor flooding so far.

Yes, I'm in Victoria, and there shouldn't be a need to worry about me at all, I'm fairly safe where I live currently.
