Yes, this was my front door at 8 this morning. There's already 18+ on the ground, and it's still snowing!

I vote we swap the naming of the months January and December. I swear it snows more in January. Just seems weird.

There has been almost no snow here this year. Every other week there is a 'winter weather advisory' and they say 'take cover! There's a foot or more of snow headed our way!' But the next day there is an inch of snow or less on the ground...
Feel free to send as much snow as you want to Michigan. We're used to having a lot more than we currently do and people are starting to get freaked out with all this less-than-an-inch crap. Yesterday I couldn't even get my car to slide!! Yes, it is that bad.
Ironically, I keep running into people from southern states complaining about all the snow or demanding to know why the 1/2" of snow in the parking lot isn't being cleared...
But no really, I'll get you the MI governor's emergency number and we'll gladly buy and truck a foot or more of that snow up here. We haven't even had a winter yet. People and animals are walking around in confused circles already so hopefully it's not too late for us.

It'll be like 75-80 during the day but in the mornings/at night there's crunchy grass and frozen roofs.
I think you got the main force of the storm that hit us down here last night. ..of course we only got ~3 inches...didn't stop people from doing 25mph on well cleared, well salted highways though.. -_^

20" on the ground, with 5 or so more to come yet. the news only says 15" in my area, but when i took my dog out and it was almost up to my waist in the ENTIRE backyard I'd says she's full of it :D

We got a similar amount here, all 20 miles from you, lol.
I hate when it happens as I always clean my car and space. Then the second I move the car the vultures that still have all 18 inches on the top of their cars slam the gas to get out of their spot and come steal the one I spent forever cleaning. Blargh.

lol thats why I LOVE renting from my parents...don't have to deal with that lol
No snow outside for me :P
However, I got a snow day a couple days ago.
Then again, the whole county (and part of neighboring counties) were essentially shut down.

How do you keep your hose from freezing yet usable at the same time?

Really?
Ok, so flowing water is less likely to freeze, due to it's movement. Also, for water to freeze that quickly, it would need to be severely cold. See "The Day After Tomorrow"

We just has more snow, sleet, and to make it even better it's now glossed over with ice. Fell on my a$$ 3 times just trying to get to the car.

I guess I meant 'pipes' more so than 'hose'. I've never seen the water to exterior pipes not turned off completely for the winter...otherwise the pipes freeze and in extreme cases crack. Plus, hosing down snow sounds like a lot ice to me...I'd rather just have the snow.:alien:

yea we got the ice too, but after 4-6" of snow, so it wasn't too bad. most of it melted today too
but...now they're saying another 6-12" friday....
We had a bunch of ice on Monday night. Fortunately it didn't start really coming down until I was home...and it was almost all melted by the time I left for work on Tuesday. :P Then today it was in the 40's (F)!

What a drive today.. snow + wind + warm temps yesterday = low visibility, snow drifts everywhere, and ice on everything.
Was a pretty scary hour on the way to work this morning!
..and, it's 43F here today. :D I actually drove to work with my window open today. It was nice. :D
