View Full Version : Best 120mm fan with most CFM's?

I want to move a lot of air...and I don't care how loud it is.

I figure I can probably put two or three 120mm fans together and create a push/pull duct, but what fans do I use?

I rather like the Ultra Kaze 3000rpm (http://www.coolerguys.com/kaze120.html) fan, but is it the best for CFM's?

BTW, see this?

EDIT: I guess I should've checked Newegg first. Wow!!!

I would have said the best bet would be a Delta fan but the highest CFM 120mm fan by them is 240.96, which is a LOT. I have a couple of 180CFM Deltas and they literally stand up on one corner as they balance on their cushion of air. Honestly, I can't see those being necessary in anything but a high-end server parked in a closet...unless that's what you're putting them in?

98F instead of 101F means a extra 14Mhz in some situations

Although i'd highly recommend a 110v fan instead of a 12v, you can check my threads on how to make a 110v fan controller using a wall dimmer switch.

some of them 110v fans push in excess of 300cfm

there is a compact blower that pushes over 1,000cfm and will fit in your case with some effort

I would be worried about that damaging components. At the very least it would require every cable to lock. lol

It doesn't push as much air, but I was quite impressed by the CFM/dBA ratio of this one:
90CFM @ 18dBA!

From what I've heard the SilenX fans have pretty much the best noise to CFM ratio but they also break easily.

How about this one? :D 1,000 CFM for only $253.60.

Mwuahahahaha! How about THIS one! 350,000 CFM. ...I'm sure you could funnel that all through a case... :whistler:

Maybe hook it up to one of these for a stupidly overpowered watercooling system. :P

Sure, if you want to blow up your case like a balloon!..I like the water cooling idea though. You've got a new workshop, right? I'll bet it could use a good project or two.

I know airfoxx makes it, I'll ask bud the name of it, used for industrial glass butterfly machine (the deals that straighten the glass)

It's almost that one, but that says 20" and the one he has is more like 10" which was what got me thinking that it'd fit in a PC chassis easy as pie.
