RetroMod
If you read that right, it's cardboard
it is a retrofuturistic computer, without being steampunk. the first images do not say much, first, a box of a case which will be the body of the project, the carton is not the best so that will suffer several reinforcements. My English is not good so you will see many pictures and few words.

Hi,
It's over with cardboard covering all case.

http://argosmod.com.ar/Miniaturas/retro-042.jpg (http://argosmod.com.ar/Mimod/retro-042.jpg)
Reinforcement was placed so as not to bend the cardboard to be cut
section where be mount the motherboard.

http://argosmod.com.ar/Miniaturas/retro-041.jpg (http://argosmod.com.ar/Mimod/retro-041.jpg)
Now begins the process of covering everything with two layers of paper, before being painted, it will INDESTRUCTIBLE! Hahaha ... (evil laugh)

It sort of looks like R2-D2. Perhaps I'm just seeing things.
Pretty cool mod either way! I love these sort of "arts and crafts" pieces. It's oddly much more interesting than using sheet metal or plexiglass.
Looking forward to seeing more!

I'm going to miss this mod once it's finished! I've enjoyed watching your progress. Very cool!

There's this guy on youtube that builds gun replicas out of paper . . . that are fully functional including firing.
I'm smelling a TBCS Modder's challenge in the works here. I think we all have enough access to cardboard that we could do this as a challenge, maybe.

Wow, I totally missed the hinge when I first read through. That is a super-ingenious idea due to the fact that, as d_stilgar said, it allows access to the motherboard without unplugging all the cables. That's worth at least a rep and hopefully well see such a simplistic solution to tinkering access more often! And all with primarily cardboard!

yes, the inspiration are the old PowerMac G4 cases and his side panel.
the panel can be opened completely once connected all the wires, but this time not because I did not modify the power supply and this is short.

Congrats on the front page! This one is truly epic. I love the way it opens on the mobo side. Also, the ragged, aged look...nicely done.
