Battlefield 3 is the true successor to Battlefield 2. Beyond our signature multiplayer, we have also included a full single-player campaign and a co-op campaign – all straight out of the box. As for fan favorite features, how does the return of jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer (on PC) sound? All this built with our powerful new game engine Frostbite 2, which you'll hear and see a lot of in the months leading up to launch. This has been on my list of 'release night' games. I've been waiting for this for a long time. BF2 is still one of my favorite games. They damn well better not screw this up by trying to be like CoD or some crap.

Can't wait. But I really hope the guns have impact. I don't know how to explain it but BC2 it never really felt like the guns were connecting. Brink feels similarly as well. I enjoy guns by how they feel and most just didn't feel right. Don't really know how to explain it; just didn't feel connected to the gun.

But from what they've shown so far it looks phenomenal.

Just finished playing a couple of rounds on the BETA. It's pretty glitchy. You launch the game from a web browser. And I am going to need a new video card.

Well i just finished a 4 hour session. Its definatly buggy. Im sad i can only get on one map though... its great because all the n00bs are back so its pretty easy to get a ton of kills. the problem is that its hard to get push at all. I couldn't bind keys to my mouse buttons yet, but honestly it runs beautifully.

Anyone else notice the sniper scope reflections? Its kind of strange when you're in a tunnel and theres a highly reflective scope. From what i've discerned you only see it when the sniper has his scope up and pointed roughly at you. It definatly helps with super campers who never scope out..

ya I noticed it. I played for about 30 mins until some assclown kept tking me for sniping. I mean, come on. I'm on defense, in a nice spot picking off the attackers one by one. This dink comes out of nowhere and tks me over and over then rants about how snipers are useless. In the meantime I was 10/1 and he was 2/8 :facepalm: :rolleyes:

I was at 54% and it effed up and now I have to REDOWNLOAD the game again.... Took me almost 2 days to get that 54%.

Ok... so is anyone else having the issue of not being able to join any servers? they keep saying that they are full... when they aren't listed as full. And, when I do the quick match option, it will give me a slot on one of the servers that won't let me sign on to manually, but then the game freezes and never connects to the server. Grrr. stupid beta.

I want to launch through steam so i can use chat with people. and origin chat is glitchy and broken as hell. every time i tried to use it i had to deal with lines streaking across my monitor for 15 seconds before i could access it...

So apparently people have been getting emails about the game being released on the 24th instead and right now when I start up BF3 it says the game will be unlocked at 9pm pst so I really hope it's true. *crosses fingers*

I can't play until I get Maximum Security done :( I put my 6870 in it and the 5850 that I'm using now doesn't work well with the catalyst drivers I'm using. It tells me to upgrade to 11.7 or higher, but I can't. If I uninstall the current ones then try to install the new ones, it won't install the display driver! :facepalm: I tried playing and was in for about a minute and the game just quit. No error or anything, just quit. Ah well. More incentive to get MS done :D

If you loaded via Origin you need to go to the little gear at the top right side and then to "Redeem Product Code". Put in the code that EA sent you and voila!

Maybe my times are a little off lol but for the most part most of us get on at night. We've actually been having some trouble with the server keeping our settings saved so EA has been classifying our server as "custom" instead of "hardcore" which I think partly contributes to why no one joining our server.

I do like using the tanks. I can't fly for crap. But I did try the helicopter and I could actually keep it in the air. They must have made it easier in this game than BC2 because I would always crash the chopper within seconds of getting in the air on BC2.

Honestly, I don't enjoy the game as much as I was hoping I would. Battlefield 2 is like my all time favorite battlefield game, and possibly my favorite shooter, but I just felt kinda let down by BF3 and I can't really pinpoint why, however one thing I can say is I don't like it the overall feel to the game. I hate to say this, but it really feels like Bad Company 2.0. BC2 isn't a bad game, and I did enjoy a good amount, but it never felt like a true BF game to me. Now with BF3, it kinda feels like they took BC2 and threw on the large landscapes from BF2 and called it good. And yes, I know I simplified things quite a bit by just saying they increased map size, but that's what it feels like to me in. As a successor to BF3, I don't think it's that great, but as itself, I guess it's not that bad. Hopefully Karkand and some of the other older BF2 maps they bring over will make me want to play more, but until then...... meh

yea battlefield 2/3 helicopters fly more like airplanes suspended from a string then a actual helicopter.

My GF can pilot the helicopters on battlefield, but she'll insta crash on flight simulator X.



oh if you want the absolute best MMO war simulator, check out Battleground europe, There is no larger simulator in the industry, and i've been playing for about 11 years now since the very start of it.


horrible horrible graphics, but the trade off is awesome awesome awesome gameplay and stupendous physics.

That was probably the 1st game ever to put multiplayer airplanes in with multiplayer infantry and tanks and ATG's and trucks and ships and sappers and grenediers and blah blah.. all into the same game, on the same map, with the ability to shoot and kill each other (i've ONE TIME ONLY shot a stuka down with a rifle while we was swooping)

its probably one of the only games where every time is unique and everything shooting back at you is a person, not a computer.



did i mention the map takes 43 days to cross by foot and its a 1/2 scale map of europe with no loading screens while in the world? i think its still the largest map for a MMO ever made. but don't hold me to that these days. (little under 19,583 sq mi)

they are also soon planning to add the japanese and africa campaigns which will put the world map at over 50,000 sq miles.

So I have to say origin sucks... Totally. I know its a dead horse, but really? my computer has been on and idle for 4 days and it didn't bother to try to download the 4GB patch to my ONE GAME that it has to manage? what a pile of utter crap. Hope ea gets off this horse and takes an arrow to the knee. Steam FTW...
