1200W psu for High end workstation

Can anyone recommend a high quality 1200 W PSU for a workstation build?

It must be high quality and quiet, since it is going in a workstation that will be in a hospital. Due to FDA requirements regarding the system it will replace (Dell T7500), it MUST have at least a 1200W PSU (even though it may not be needed).

System specs:
Motherboard : SuperMicro X8 based
CPU: 2x quad core xeon nehalems (maybe better)
Memory: Min 24gb Max 64GB
HDD's: 3x SAS 10k's
Video: 2x Quadro FX4800
DVD: Yes

It used to be I could read through the specs and determine what one to use, but there are so many options available it is hard to choose.

If you're using it for an FDA approved machine, I'd go with Enermax. PCP&C has gone downhill, and for absolute top of the line Enermax will be hard to beat. There is also a 1200w version of the Ultra X4 that I reviewed a while back. Either would be my goto choice for a PSU for a machine like that.

Thought about a dual G34 system? Roughly the same price point, more memory bandwidth, much longer upgradability...

We have to match the T7500 specs as close as we can. Our customer has already tested and approved that config and deviating from it will cause 9 months of certification woes...

Our customer is done with the Dell systems and the T7500 has pushed them over the edge. It uses a funky adapter board for the second CPU and memory and 99% of the time they have to open up the box and re-seat the board after installation or even moving the system around the office. Very poor design for a _supposedly_ high end work station.

Possibly. They tend to use them until they die or are EOL'd and they change models (another issue with Dell, they don't give you warning when they EOL a system).

I will keep my eyes open. Most likely the 690's will be scrapped first (the model the T7500 replaced).

Dual 771s, right? FB-DIMM and all, but I wonder if it'd much matter so long as I can get enough RAM and all...

The base config of the 690's is Dual xeon, with 24gb memory and FX 4800...

I have one at home I was bought for development and troubleshooting but is now a personal machine (I actually have 32gb mem but only have 16 installed due to some issue with one of my music programs). I may be getting rid of that one. It JUST went out of warranty and I decided not to pay the $900 for a 3 year extension...
