With the upcoming release of the new movie I'm starting my next project. War Machine is the black and white bad ass version of Iron Man. I think the movie version is making him black and silver, so that's the route I'm taking too.

I'll be using the B2 case provided to me by InWin!

Here's what he looks like from the movie

Here's the case I got from InWin

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050341.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050339.jpg
It comes with a very detailed and full color instruction sheet
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050322.jpg
And stickers to make it look more like a B2
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050324.jpg
The first mod I'm doing on the case will be adding Iron Man's mask to it. It's made of a heavy weight acrylic material and weighs at least a pound. I will be painting it to match the War Machine armor first.

So last night at Midnight I saw Iron Man 2!
I am going to finish this thing already. Time to make a chain gun! I'm going to use this cheap plastic piping that I'm cutting with a regular hand saw
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050590.jpg
Into six pieces
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050591.jpg
This is how it's going to look. The center will have a shorter version of the same pipe
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050597.jpg
For now rubber bands will hold it together
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050599.jpg
The base of the gun will be an old hollowed out PSU
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050600.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050602.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050603.jpg
I have this cool mesh from my Project: Framed
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050605.jpg
I'll be covering the sides with it
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050607.jpg
Now I measure out the hole for the pipes
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050608.jpg
The hole saw I have is a little big, but will be addressed afterwards
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050609.jpg
Here it is cut out
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050614.jpg
And when set on the case
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050616.jpg
Before I actually mount it, I must get to the painting

I decided to finish a little more.
I've been experimenting with several round bottles in order to find a base and top cap for the barrel
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050621.jpg
Since the base won't be seen anyway I wrapped it in black electrical tape
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050623.jpg
And go figure, my spray paint cap was perfect!
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050622.jpg
And here it is on top. I'm not done with this effect yet.

Sorry, I'm back on it again. Got that M11x review done and I'm settled into my new job. I'll be finishing in Aug after my 10 day vacation to the Bahamas. I just ordered some inert .50 Cal ammo

They were real bones as part of a "full skeleton" collection for medical students. The private school was going under so they put each arm and each leg and all the rest in appropriate lots and sold them on eBay. I bid for the right arm bones up to $200 where I was finally outbid. Turns out some other group won all of the auctions and thus the whole skeleton
so that's what happened.
It would have been hilarious to see people react then they find out that yes, those are real bones

It's actually very hard to find human bones or blood for that matter. Yes, I wanted to use real blood too! In the end I did cut myself (by accident) and then added it to the case. You can say there's a little of me in that mod, literally.
Anyway, back to War Machine. I'm trying to find a clever way of adding the ammo to the case.

I separated four of the 50 cal rounds
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050714.jpg
I didn't have any primer so I used a flat black instead
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050715.jpg
Then I painted on the chrome finish
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050720.jpg
They are going here:

The rounds were a little too long so I cut them in half
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1050726.jpg
Then I slid them in. I just need to make them stay for good

I put the panel back on

The front and right sides are next

Thnx
Really, all I had to do here was add a basic shroud and attach the 50 cal rounds

Next, I want to have the Arc Reactor on the front of the case, so I bought the $6 toy at Walmart
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060146.jpg
I covered up the top piece with the light and painted it
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060148.jpg
And here it is all silver
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060151.jpg
That's when I realize that it looks nothing like the one from the movie. This one has this gay triangle in the middle and lights up yellow? It looks like the easy way won't be good enough.
I'm going to build my own Arc Reactor!

I saw a few how-to's, but I can't land the parts they used, so.....
I picked up this super-bright LED magnet light for $5
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060153.jpg
I then dissected the toy Arc Reactor
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060156.jpg
And glued it to a $2 Tub Sprout Ring
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060163.jpg
Then I glued the conjoined pieces to the top of the push light
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060181.jpg
And there it is!
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060169.jpg
As you can see it's far brighter than the old yellow one.
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060177.jpg
Next, I'll add it to the front panel .

Next, I mark and cut out the hole.
I opted for a dremel instead of a hole saw for better control
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060188.jpg
Here it is mounted to the panel. Luckily, I kept it thin enough so that the door could still close just fine
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060189.jpg
It's still bright! I just wish I can take a clear photo with the Reactor light still on
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060192.jpg

Next I add some highlights, starting with stripes on the left
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060280.jpg
Remember my Matrix Mod?
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060276.jpg
I cut the right panel into several segments
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060284.jpg
Then, while wearing gloves, I bent it all back
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060285.jpg
Remember that mask in the beginning?
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060273.jpg
Then I laid out a coat of flat white spray paint
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060277.jpg
Then I used model paint for the mask
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060289.jpg
And then I use Silver too
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060290.jpg
And that looks great for how little time it took
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060291.jpg
Now I just have to make it stay there
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060293.jpg

Thanks!
I added some mesh around the mask to give it more texture
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060294.jpg
Now, to light up the eyes

Here's the back of the mask
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060296.jpg
I cut out some thin flexible pieces of plastic from the packaging of an 80mm fan
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060297.jpg
I then add it to the back of the helmet with some adhesive
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060300.jpg
And then attach the LED's with some silicon
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060301.jpg
And then I re-attach the side panel
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060308.jpg
.
.
This Mod is finished!
