Wow. Ive played about two hours so far and I can confirm that this game definitely gives the creeps. Playing at night with all the lights off and the volume turned up really creates a frightning feeling that no other game can pull off. Highly recommend if you really want to get your blood flowing :)

I've not played it yet but I will when I can stop playing Bioshock, damn it's brilliant.

If you liked The Dark Descent you will probably also like the earlier games in the series "Penumbra: Overture" and "Penumbra: Black Plague" they were pretty scary at times, if you stare at the creatures for a few seconds too long when hiding your vision goes all blurred and IIRC you start to gasp for breath and eventually the creature will see you, good value for money as well.
