My kids computer (AMD Dual core, 2GB, 80GB, ATI 4890) sits in a bottom mount desk that completely closes when not in use. I do have my kids trained to at least keep the door open while the computer is on. Within the bottom part the computer has room all around it. It has one side panel intake fan and rear one exhaust. The front panel has one DVD drive and one open bay under it.

I'm thinking since the door is open and the front panel is exposed to the cool air I should fill that empty drive bay with an intake fan. Any ideas about what would move a decent amount of air?

I've seen these from evercool, but they are exhaust fans and I really want an intake fan

couldn't you just flip the wires on the motor to make it an intake?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HVHYJW seems like it may be a decent option

with the mods i've seen from TGS, why not just make a tray to house intake fans like the one posted above?

THESE (http://pelonis.thomasnet.com/item/crossflow-fans/jed-040a-dc-series/jed-04009a12?) come in different sizes if you want to make your own.

Or search for Squirrel Cage Fans (http://www.google.com/images?q=Squirrel+cage+fans&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1413&bih=883) for other options.

I remember both of those products, TGS, from when they first launched. Both were not worth the dough, especially the PC AirCon. The Evercool product isn't nearly as good as a simple case fan placed behind some mesh. I'd just do that. Perhaps get creative, make a blow hole with some body filler or something, or just do the old behind perforated metal.

I'm thinking of maybe making a duct that puts an 80mm fan in the drive cage that pulls air from the open drive bay

Or maybe I should just transfer the guts into a larger, more breathable case

That's too big. I only have one bay open

120mm fan fits in three spare 5.25" bays but that might be to much

Two 40mm fans fit in the space of two 3.5" drive spaces almost perfectly.

They might also fit in a 5.25" bay if you've got somewhere up front with just a little bit of a gap? a dap of glue or VHB tape would work to hold them in against the house insurgents (kids)

Added a 120MM fan in the front.
