I have had my photography site hosted on Bizland.com for over 5 years now and for a long time they were great. At the time the hosting was cheap, they had reasonable storage and bandwidth and I knew a few people who were using them. In the last 2 years they have fallen to pieces and their service is crap. First they killed the old plan I was on and moved everyone to lower storage and lower bandwidth for the same price we were paying before, and then they screwed up a lot of peoples sites during a cpanel update. I think the next incident was when they updated our mail server and their whole customer base had no email access for 5 days due to something going wrong. Well today we are again having email issues. When I go to login I get the following error
"Could not include PEAR database functions required for the database backend.Is PEAR installed, and is the include path set correctly to find DB.php? Please contact your system administrator and report this error. "
so I contact customer service to see if the problem is unique to me.....its not, so I ask if there is an ETA on it being resolved and I get the same generic response I always get when asking questions. "Your service will be restored within 24-48 hours"
I have a second host hosting account with 1and1 which is much cheaper per month and I have more storage and unlimited bandwidth. I have been hesitating to move the photo site to it simply because I despise 1and1's webmail. I could set it up in outlook or forward it to Gmail though and that would make things easier I guess.
I just expect better customer service and reliability from a company I give $15/month too for something that is worth $4/month.
