Thought I'd post these for sale here before I put them on eBay. Give you all a first shot at them.

So, here we are:
Two Sapphire Radeon HD 4870X2 video cards, stock HS/F, certified OC-capable by our own Kayin (not sure to what level). They work well, but generate a fair bit of heat, so may not be the best choice for a small case unless you want to LC them.

...and before anyone asks, yes, these are the ones I won in the raffle.. :whistler:

I was going to keep them, but fell in love with an Eyefinity setup instead, so I'm selling these (and later my GTX260's) to help fund a 6xxx card or two.

I'm asking $125+shipping each ($250+shipping for the set). Normally these go for $150-200 each on eBay, so I think this is a great deal for anyone who isn't concerned with Eyefinity or DX11 but wants to give a serious boost to their system.

Fair warning, these cards have apparently been having problems with some recent driver versions from AMD locking the second (and third and fourth if running both) GPUs into 2D mode, but apparently this can be fixed either by running an older driver version (I'm working on pinpointing which one works best atm) or by doing a small overclock to force them out of 2D mode.

I'm pretty tempted by this as well. If my wife and I hadn't just spent $1500 this week on a TV and PS3 I would be all over these.

How come the 4870 comes in so many different external appearances? Is there any difference in hardware as it's really been bugging me since I want to double up the one I already have. Mine is a big blue card but all the otehrs I see are mostly red. What's the deal???

well that's a 4870X2, not a regular 4870. The X2 is 2 GPU's on one chip, which is basically crossfire on a single board. @ of these would theoretically give you quad-crossfire, but a 4870x2 performs a little slower than 2 4870's in crossfire, get it? :D (I had 2 3870X2's in crossfire - would take just about anything I could throw at it)

The reason for the outward appearance is the manufacturer. Different MFG's will do things differently. Some will keep the reference PCB and cooler, while others will OC the card, and change around the PCB layout and use their own cooler.

Thanks SXRguy! I'll leave the topic back to it's intended purpose now, learn something everyday though ;) I'm still running this card in my current gamer, was thinking of adding a second one to it when I upgrade mobo RAM and CPU so I'll be asking about it again at some point (in my own thread lol)

If you could wait maybe a week or possibly three, I would buy these from you.

BoB's got one, but I'm not in a huge hurry. If the second one is still up for sale when you can afford it, it's yours.

Shop is now closed...wow, that was fast. :D
