i was going to order some stuff off of eBay tonight, but they are coming out of honk kong i am not sure if it would be a good idea or a bad idea. i can get 300 LEDS for like 8$

Not a bad idea. Probably the same source as many of the US sellers.

my arduino came from hong kong but im worried now because of the recent events with the melt downs and the tsunami if i would still get the leds i mean.

Hong Kong is about 1000 miles away from where the nuclear reactors are having issues. I don't see the problem.

that's true, but what about any delays due to the sunami between hong kong and here? just as an example because i don't know what stops the plane would make on the way here, but if it has to stop in hawaii to refuel, what are the conditions of the airports there? i haven't heard anything so i don't know. of course if it was coming by boat, then that wouldn't be a issue.

Closer to 2000 miles... Seriosuly, if they're still selling them, you can still buy them.

Given the problems they're having, I wouldn't be too bothered about 8 bucks.

lol yeah im very sorry guys. i pulled a all nigher and my girlfriend just pointed out to me that hong kong was in china and not japan. lol so yeah once again sorry.
