Anyone know what the problem might be?
Sounds like a capacitor problem to me.
The internet tells me that if it's 3 flashes, it's probably a capacitor problem, if it's four flashes, it might be a relay problem.
How comfortable are you with a soldering iron?

Never used one before. Would it be difficult to fix?

If your not that comfortable, have a knowledgeable friend over and you guys can do the project together. Also make sure it's been unplugged a WHILE before you start feeling around in there. The capacitors need to discharge. This comes from experience....and a few burnt fingers.

That or use a big old flathead screwdriver to short the caps...yay sparkies!
