Got everything moved over to the dragon rider just so I coudl . Would not completely start windows to save its life, come to find out my pci slot is shot from my water leak episode. So now I need a new mobo and the AM2 board I was looking at a few months ago is unavailable as it is out of date. I don't have the moolah to shell out for a new mobo and processor combo so hurray for a half dead mobo. In other news I don't know why you would buy anything other than a Dragon Rider case if your going to do a water cooled gaming rig this thing is AWESOME.

that sucks.
i'd offer up one of my many spare mobos, but none are am2. they are all much older.
there's gotta be someone on here with an old am2 mobo willing to part with it.
Not that you need a whole new board, but there is this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138147R)....
If only AM2 was compatible with Slot 1...........

It arrived? Awesome! I'm using a phantom, and the guts look very comparable, in terms of size and features and layout.
Sucks about your broken gear though. What about getting a new mobo off ebay to tide you over?

Snowman, I've got a spare ASUS M4A785-M mATX motherboard that supports AM2/2+/3. It would tide you over, but you may be looking for a more permanent solution. If you are interested, PM me and we'll work out the details.

I pulled the pci usb card and it booted up fine I am going to put it in the other slot and see if it still stalls on boot, although I don't see why it would matter I still think it is something in the pci slot.

I'm sort of in the middle - I'm running my third Phenom II in a row and I'm extremely pleased by them, but part of me wishes I waited another couple of months and got an i7 2700k instead of a 1090T.
If I were to go for AMD now, I'd wait for Bulldozer...

I like the atom line up for things that are mobile but otherwise I think you may be on to something. I may just save up for an all out blowout of a build with a bulldozer. Better start saving my pennies now.
Dr walrus, from what I hear around the internets, yout MBB should support AM3+ CPUs once they're released (possibly requiring a BIOS update). The 890FX/GX NB's will be used with the Bulldozers, and some have even been labeled as supporting AM3+. I was thinking it was the GA-890FX-UD5 that I saw had done that, but it may have been another.. That's why I made sure to get an 890FX/GX MBB when I bought the stuff for my system last week, so that once Bulldozers come out and get over the initial price hump, I should be able to just replace the CPU. :D

That was my exact plan :D
Heheh, nice.
I actually almost got the GA-890FX-UD5, but Micro Center didn't have it in stock...even though the website said they did...then I was going to get the GA-890GPA-UD3H, but found the Crosshair on clearance for even less...and I really wanted those two extra PCIe x16 slots... :whistler:
