I am only part way through construction but it has already cost me obo $2500 CDN and I don't even have any actual pc components still just working on the "case" if you can call it that/ probably post some pics later since I don't have them online. I so far have a spun aluminum laser cut dome, laser cut aluminum skin,laser cut pvc legs, led logic displays, and allot of resin detail peaces. I am planning on making the frame out of aluminum as well. still have a long way to go, I think when its finished r2 will have cost me obo $5000.00
but hay come on its R2D2
Was going to try and have him finished for Fragapalooza 2006 but it looks like I am not going to make it :(

an in that case you've seen the posts lately of Our new run of Front logics that interface with a pc. You might want to pick up a set......

As a mater of fact yes as of now, but seeing as they were never intended to be computer cases I still consider it a pc mod, some other people have put mini computers in them for controlling there bot but as far as I know there’s just two people (including me) who are putting gaming or server pc’s in them. So there defiantly will be some home brew parts in my droid. I am only buying parts that I my self couldn’t produce like the dome I am planning on making the frame and feet not to mention I still have to do the wiring, Pulse the parts arrive unfinished so you still have to sand, cut, bondo, polish, and paint them! It took me like a week of sanding just to get rid of the bumps left on the dome from when it was spun.

Ordered some more parts including a custom made frame made of PEGT
I have also been working on the legs and will be cutting some of the holes on the inner dome to make way for the holo projectors and logic displays.

Hello all just thought I would give an update as of now I have about 90% of the components I need to build my r2s basic body minus stuff like servos etc.
I was planning on having him finished for Fragapalooza but I know now I won’t make it so seeing as I still want a good pc for that I have decided to buy the pc part of r2 now and just put it in an antec case. I am wondering what would look better a bloodrayn pc( black and red with red water cooling) or a megas xlr pc ( metallic blue with flaming 8 ball and miniature of megas on top).Any who I just received the custom frame I had made, its made of PEGT. Well that’s all for now so happy moding!
