Slacker, very nice...has a clean, elegant look to it

Sushi, I like the diamond plate Idea..looks good, and is it me or did you flip the box over and build it upside down? interesting idea, makes it unique.

by the by how is that ECS board treating you? getting one in a week or two.

I love the "craftsman" PC , great build....the AMD badge after the craftsman logo is a great touch

I was trying to deffend someone. He doesn't know how proud the was about his mod or how much is may have hurt hime to hear that.

I don't give a **** about what you were trying to do. If you were trying to defend it, then you did it the WRONG way. Telling somebody "It's not like yours doesn't suck the nut either" because they dissed somebody else's mod is NOT the right thing to do.

What you SHOULD have done:

1. Keep your mouth shut. This is a tried and true method that works almost every time. When in doubt, don't say anything.

2. Notify an admin, moderator, or another highly respected member of the forum. Sure, the highly respsected member won't have the power to ban anybody if it comes to that, but people are more likely to listen to them.

3. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT defend people with a personal attack. Telling somebody their computer sucks, on a computer forum, may as well be a personal attack. If you intended to defend nutcase, you should have left the other guy's computer, name, profession, anything personal, out of it. You could have said something like "Hey, I like it. It's original and creative". Sure, that might not have prevented that hissy-fit flame-war we just ended, but for damn sure, it wouldn'tve been your fault if it started.

Side-note: Why do all the larger threads on this forum all seem to get off track (with the exception of worklogs)?

Hi!
I got one with no PSU because I just got a 500w antec smartpower psu :D
It has been awesome for me - especialy the added extras like the carrying harness and the fact that the door's latch is magnetic not clasp :D

Chel - haha yeah I can see where you're coming from! I bought mine because unlike most cases, its side-fan is directly over the pcie slots - and my 7900GTX is overclocked a fair bit so it needs some extra airflow over the heatpipes on the side.

You'd be correct, Its UV reactive paint. I didnt use a primer so the paint isnt as bright as it could be. It doesnt even matter though. The LED's i have installed counter act even the biggest and brightest black light.

The dell is brand new and is going to get a new case soon.

Razors Edge

Well from the looks of it, Nuclear

You have already been trying with the wire management, only advise I can give ya is to buy some cable ties and squeeze the wires.

By squeeze, for the example, the SATA connecting to you're Hardrive, Just make it somehow that its getting pulled to the back so its less visible...?You could also wiretie the 2 wires connecting to youre fan on the window

Canada's Own Falcon

simle way of managing wires is to cut them, lengthen/shorten them to fit exactly around everything.

NOTE be very careful with doing this with ide/sata cables, wrong type of wire in between can lead to very very screwy performance (yeah I made that mistake once, no real harm done, but my comp slowed to a crawl everytime i needed something from the hdd.)

One good trick I found to neaten up cables is run them together as long as you can and branch the individual wires off close to the board or componants. Check out the wiring in a cars engine compartment for an example.

Thank you Fragged, because of guys like you I do what I do. I have very little money to use on comps so I recycle most of my stuff. I used the mobo, cpu, memory and HDDs from the blue one to make the black one and now I am using the stuff to make my next comp.

LOL, I have like 4 cool cases in pieces all around the house...

Right now I am building an EXTREME comp to win the CoolerMaster mod contest. After that one I will be pretty broke (no $$$ for more mods) so I will sit down and show my wiring and painting tricks.(around the middle of Nov)

WHere did you get the radiator from? It is a alot like my one the zalman reserator 2 dohicky. I noticed you use quite thin tubing in the case how is that working out? Plus there is also a large difference in height between the case and the radiators outlets/inlets you must have a powerful pump. Sweet job though I like the inside of your case.

hopefully here goes a few answers -

It's an Alphacool Cape Cora Passive Radiator, I don't OC my machine but do game for long hours, it keeps my AMD running under full load at around 39degrees (depending on room temp, obviously in the winter a little higher as the heating is on) the beauty of it for me is when I do decide to OC I can just add more fins.

The tbing is 10/8mm, it works fine for me and is happily pushed round by a Laing DDC Ultra pump, nice and quiet and a good flow rate. Did consider a 1/2" system but went for 10/8 in the end just to make it easier for myself (was my 1st WC attempt)

Left Hander - Oh yes aren't all the best people? :D

Thanks for the interest in my build people!!!! Confirming it's nice here :D

SF: I've actually got a couple of holes in the back of the eye socks already for some LEDs or to pipe some smoke out. That's why I chose this case, the door panel is perfect for something like this, I just haven't figured out what if anything I'm going to do there.

I'm also just about to run to the store and get the window tinting for the side window. I think it will look killer with a tinted window, and will make the laser etched design stand out a LOT more.

And nice case One, I've been looking at one of those possibly for a secondary LAN machine.

THe Almighty Armor:
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/th_ArmorInside.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/slytherock/ArmorInside.jpg)
As you can see on the pic, the iCages are flips, so the wires of the HDDs are on the front of the case. Now everything inside will be covered by mirror to hide the wires and add to the lighting effect. A couple of electricals stuff will also be add, but basically, my needs are practical, I work with this beast.

Correct i was thinking of a mod like that, i have 2 spare engines in my shed and i was gonna use the cylinder head off one, build a complete custom case strong enough to hold it up, remove the exhaust valves from the head and have 4 delta fans blowing air up into the head to the turbo that should provide enough cfm to spin up the turbo, although they would be delta fans and I already have a 92mm on here and its noisy as hell. Im giving it serious thought tho

Yeap, that's right!

It's a RAM slot board.

The MoBo is a server's, and it accepts RAMBUS memory.
But the prices are insane for that type of memory.

Screw that. I'd rather start over with a new board/proc/RAM combo.

not too bad for yourr first etch!

i remember mine...it was a ton worse.... all you need to do now is just go back over it and clean it up....take out the high spots... and it will look perfect....and you can seperate your E and 6 by going around the edges a lil deeper...catches a bit more like the deeper you go

not too bad for yourr first etch!

i remember mine...it was a ton worse.... all you need to do now is just go back over it and clean it up....take out the high spots... and it will look perfect....and you can seperate your E and 6 by going around the edges a lil deeper...catches a bit more like the deeper you go
Thanks! I'll do a better one when I get a large sheet of plexi (this one is a CD case ;) ).

If you've got space, why the heck not? :)
My "PC" table is so ferking small, that my mouse is just inbetween my monitor and the box, and thats like 15-20cm of space :/

I did something similar once, had a huge tower in a computer I was using a couple of years ago and it was my first overclocking an AMD experience. Anyhow, it was overheating and I couldn't afford a new heatsink/fan at the time, so a little duct tape and a box fan later it was running like a champ ... a noisy champ, but a champ none the less.

I had to do that once with my computer. I had a huge industrial fan set at point blank range. Needless to say, it cooled everything like a champ. ...at about six billion dB. Everything was cool to the touch though. ^^

I could of probably utilized it further with some cardboard. Make a sort of entire case air duct. I bet I could overclock with a setup like that. :p

It looked alot like THIS (http://www.atrendyhome.com/floorfan.html). It could be the 6,000+ CFM version. I think it belonged to my uncle before he went out of business. He had a HUGE shop. I miss it because it had a loft with a big screen and comfy couches!

Instead of scribbling in the inside of it to frost it, why dont you put tape around th outline and sand it

As I've said, that was my first one ever, and I havent used a tutorial, thats why it came out so bad :D

Hi guys, heres my rig again, just a bit more fiddling with cables etc, cut out the design in the sidepanel that everyone has (have to be a little different :p), and some different bits added on.

Soon to be watercooled, ill post back when i get my parts through :)

FIRST CASE MOD EVER
there are only 2 views 4 now, i only have a cameraphone so deal with low res
one top fan, one front fan, one exhaust fan, and an extra psu fan
its from an OLD OLD OLD pentium 2 case, the mobo i/o ports werent removable, and the psu socket was the wrong size, but a jigsaw quickly fixed that. thats why there r big washers on the psu. im going to take better pics with my 35mm camera and get my scanner to work so stay tuned

You know thats not healthy, right?

Anywho this is mine. I just got the cathodes this week and havent bothered with my cables yet. The case itself is a stock cooler master centurion 5, if you consider breaking part of the case modding then I guess its modded :p *rest of the specs in sig*

This computer is 3 years in the making I set a change to me self to make a case with these rules
1) it was to look as if it was made in the 1940 – 1950’s
2) it couldn’t be made from a modern case and made to look old
3) it had to appear to have been made with tools of it’s time
4) it had to look aged as if been used and upgraded over time
5) if and when using new or modern equipment on the outside of the case it had to be made to follow the fourth rule
6) it had to have a home build look as if an inventor of its time put it to getter in his lab
7) everything mechanical on the outside of the case had to be working no dummy parts to look cool
8) it had to be upgradeable for future use
9) it had to be water cooled
10) and virtually everything had to be modified no stock parts
11) and the only time I could use stock parts is if I couldn’t make it my self such as water blocks ect.
Im only about 75% complete with it waiting on some parts some of these pictures are old so will post new ones soon .some parts are hard to come by like the case is from a steel tv from the 1950’s and the pump is from an air plains fuel pump .im currently working on making the hard drive ram blocks my self but not positive about how detailed I will get with it
