I reviewed their GX Typhoon Display (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/?q=node/442) with Inverse display technology a while back. It's pretty cool and I beleive you can talk to it via Serial, Jtag or USB. They are pretty modder friendly. The only problem that I can find with the display is that it must be hooked up to a main USB source. I have mine currently ran through an internal USB hub and which is ran from a USB header on the mobo. The display does not like to play nice when connected this way.

Very nice! And neat idea about swapping out the backlight. That's a heluvalot cheaper than getting a similarly sized LCD display...easier to drive too, probably.
