I want to get my gf an fm transmitter for her car so she can plug her ipod/galaxy s into it and listen to it on her radio rather than using her tape player. I dont know much about them, but i need a 3.5 mm jack, and would prefer one that plugs into the cigarette lighter of her car, Oh, and budget with shipping is $30. I have access to amazon prime, so if you find it there i can get free shipping. Thanks guys!

$30? you can get these for like $5 lol - I have one of the cheapest nastiest ones ever made, and 4 years later it still works just fine - I really don't think there's any real need to spend extra on a branded unit

SD, MMC, USB AND 3.5mm - if it's crap, you're only out a few bucks...

Tape adapter > FM transmitter

Signal sucked unless it was in one of a few spots. If I put it near the antenna it worked better (obviously) but my car has a rear mounted antenna so it wasn't very practical.

Stepped up and get a new head unit. Way better plugging into the AUX port. Just wish it supported Zune via USB.

oh man, that is absolutely perfect for me. i have been using my garmin with fm transmitter to play mp3s in my supra, but this is even better because i don't have to worry about it getting stolen like the garmin. i can't get a new headunit because it is a '79 mk1 supra that is all original and very low miles. therefore i want to keep the original analog headunit.

or you could just give me the supra since nobody remembered my birthday

Problem is that her tape deck clicks like none other through the speakers. So until she is ready to replace her deck this should hold her over.
