I've had the idea of an LCD in the side of ModCron for a while.

Problem is, LCDs don't exactly hook straight up to a VGA port.....

Part of the problem is wiring and channeling.

The other problem: What would be best? Adventure to microcontroller or 2nd mobo inside case?

Easily done with an Arduino and a 16x2 LCD :D

Problem is, I've already cut an 8" hole in the side.

Post #2, you see the LCD I had in there.

Planning on getting an updated one; the other one fell apart and was only 800*600.

I saw a micocontroller-vga adapter somewhere....

Would a USB monitor work?

Lilliput 8" touch screen (http://cgi.ebay.com/LILLIPUT-8-UM-80-C-T-USB-POWER-TOUCH-SCREEN-MONITOR-/260554943197?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item3caa48eadd#ht_2075wt_1139)

Just a couple examples I pulled off eBay, either way they wouldn't need a video port and could be plugged directly into your MB's USB headers without much effort.

USB would probably work.

Just not high priority right now; getting replacement parts is.
