Well, when I attempt to connect to the 3G mobile network (Huawei EM770) after previously disconnecting, it gets to authentication then complains it can't connect to the remote computer. However, I know it's a problem with Windows 7 because it works only after I restart. But if it drops out, I have to restart again to get it to work again, even if I try several times over an hour.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Well, the obvious answer would be switch to Linux, but something tells me you would probably reply with 'FOADIAF' or some such thing.
And I can personally testify that 3/4g in linux is a nightmare.

I've only had the displeasure of using 3g on my droid. Twice.

Linux isn't an option for me, majority of the tools I use (for uni) are windows only, and the uni only allows these tools to be used.
My phone's hotspot works... when it wants to. I'm not sure if it's my laptop or something else. Maybe I should look at redoing Windows 7 from scratch at some point. However, I'd still like to try to fix this problem.

Is NetBIOS binding enabled? Sounds like a generic VPN disconnect problem.
