My dad just got a new job where he has to remote access a secure network, and needs a new laptop that is work only. I'm kind of leaning towards a Lenovo, but he already owns one, so im afraid there would be a bit of trouble with that due to the laptops being too similar and my step mom or little brother grabbing the wrong one by mistake. Im looking for clean lines, black, an extended battery, around the 15 inch mark, (he had a 1680x1050 15 inch screen, but turned the resolution down because his eyes arent the best anymore, although he wont admit it, so resolution isnt an issue)

Things I would like to see.
7200 RPM hdd or SSD, he has been living off of an 80gb drive, so a small ssd wouldnt cramp his lifestyle.
4gb ram
win 7
extended battery
pref i3 or better processor, as i think he may be running a vm to access the network
under $700

I've looked at dell, and none of their current gen offerings seemed right... this is a guy who's version of fixing a computer involves a hammer, so a brickish, simple laptop would probably appeal to him.

Thanks for the help guys.

Try customizing a Dell Latitude.

Try customizing a Dell Latitude.
/\ That's what I would recommend too. Either an E5420 or E6420. Either that or an HP ProBook.
