I thin kthe majority of use are suing air cooling, simply because it costs alot less to do that than water cooling. If you wnat to beef up your watercooling system with a new pump or waterblock, that will run you anywhere from 20-50$ or higher(rough geuss). However, if you want to increase air speed, it'll run you a few bucks.

I run with air but really want to try a chilled water setup. I have 11 fans pulling air in and 2 sucking it out. I get low temps but lots of noise which i dont mind because my stereo is ALLWAYS cranked.

Fans, as wil my latest project. IMO water cooling just looks ugly, and there are some really beautiful looking cpu coolers out there.

Just about 100$ or so for a pump, tubing, CPU waterblock, and maybe a radiator.
However, that's if you buy cheap stuff. more expensive things can run 200-400$.

Minimum price, and we're talking processor only is somewhere around $215 and that's if you get a pre-built system from someone such as the Thermaltake Bigwater which I'm not sure how much it costs...
A good true water cooling setup if you use DangerDen.com is going to run you $350 for a great water block for CPU and northbridge, 3 fan radiator set up, tubing, pump, etc. If you want to throw in your video cards into the mix this setup will do so but you'll have to get the waterblocks for it as well which is another $25 to $35 depending on how good you want to go. All in all it's worth it if you are overclocking otherwise just get a Zalman CNPS9500 and some good video card coolers and save yourself the money.

This kit comes with everything and is what i had planed to purchase untill i had an accident and had to pay back my buddy for the poker chip case i messed up royaly.
It runs at $275 and has the 360mm rad, 3 water blocks, 1000 l/h pump, tubing, reservoir, chip sinks and all hardware.
This is another kit from the same place but toned down for cpu cooling only.

I plan on build cheaper PCs for the purposes of overclocking them, then slaving them to my workstation so when I render video I can use all the PCs that are networked. In any case, I want to experiment in watercooling with the cheaper ones because if there's a leak I'm pretty much screwed.

not true... there is non-conductive cooling fluid on the market. you can pour the stuff on your mobo with no problems. I believe the brand name is Fluid-XP but i could be wrong
