I wanted to make brownies but I didn't have enough butter for a full batch. I was going to make a half batch, but the full batch called for 3 eggs...and it's kinda hard to get half an egg...so I made a 2/3 batch instead. :P

This reminds me of my chem teacher in high school. He'd given us a recipe for fudge, and one day for lab, we had to make said recipe. The catch was that he went around the room and randomly stole some of a single ingredient (one group's it was flour, I think in mine it was butter, etc). It wasn't a set amount, he'd just take some, and the assignment was to adjust the recipe to accomodate the loss. I'm happy to report my fudge was the only edible one in the class (and I kept the recipe for years afterward, it was a good one).

Heheh, nice. Adaptability, math, forward planning...all disguised as delicious fudge. :D

You could have just halved the recipe and then used one egg. Eggs make brownies and cookies fluff up. I like my brownies nice and thick and moist, so I very often will leave an egg out.

Or just break the egg and only use half of it
