@Kayin: No bet. I think you're right on the money.

@diluzio91: Too true. While Apple makes some nice products, I generally refuse to purchase them, as the whole "iCulture" smacks of condescension. The prevailing attitude with Apple products seems to be that if you are using something else, you are somehow lesser for doing so, even if what you are using is a technically superior product. To me, Apple represents highly innovative marketers of just-above-mediocre technology.

Yeah I can't get my head around Apples appeal - other than trendy and well marketed - there's really nothing special.

I'm quite happy to say that the only apple product I own is the iMac G3 I paid about $15 for and which I will, when time and funds allow, convert into a PC :P

i think the thing that bothers me, is that apple is usually
A)behind the technology curve
B) Owned by people that believe that because they paid $1300 for a dual core laptop, that it will outperform your (insert significantly higher specs here) machine.
