I need a new device for some notetaking for something I've been placed in charge of.

What I'm looking for:

Small for portability, but not so small I have to hold it to my face to read it.
Physical, (semi)comfortable keyboard.
Not Apple. With iPad prices higher than the competition, and iTouch WAY too small, no.
Touchscreen would be nice (for doodles), but not a requirement.
Might be able to accept a used device, but must know exact condition.
Webcam optional.

How small is too small? It sounds like you're describing either a phone-sized thing or a netbook, but they you compare it to the iPad and say in iTouch is too small...? I guess, what size are you wanting?

I think in the ~10" screen range.

Small enough to be portable, but not so small typing is uncomfortable and awkward.

Whats your price range? Nookcolor is a good 7" after you root it. I love my Viewsonic G-tablet.

Let me know your price range I can let you know more.

Ok, in the 10" range, if you want a physical keyboard you're looking at either a netbook, a subnotebook (if you step up to 11"), or a tablet with a separate keyboard through bluetooth or something.

If you want to go with a netbook but want something a little beefier than an Atom, I seem to remember seeing some AMD Fusion based netbooks floating around...don't remember off the top of my head who made them though...

...strike that, here's one:

I don't HAVE to buy from the 'egg (if I can get a working one from elsewhere cheaper, that'll be better.)
