Check out this build. Feed Back is welcome.
The PSU is already here, and is only in the list for pricing purposes. The max budget is $1500 or less. I picked the micro board because it had 90* sata ports, and was cheaper than other p55 based boards, i'm planning on unlocking the msi 6950 at some point for him. I'm open to other boards with the exception of the following brands
No gigabyte
No biostar
No Jetway
No Foxconn

Thanks for the feedback guys! Oh, and I'm planning on taking that i5 to 4+ ghz

I think for the money and the fact that you are planning to OC, I would take a look at this CPU cooler...

Plus its Corsair so it should go nicely with the case.

Would this out perform the H60?

About the same. But yeah, good set of stuff there but lame CPU cooling. Also, invest in better case fans.
Perfect choice of SSD and CPU there. At the minute, there's a lot of offers on GTX560ti's, which is about the same as a 6950.
I would get a full sized mobo tho. Personally, really don't like how a micro atx looks in a full sized case..

This was just released, and I guarantee it will add to the asthetics, and it's only an extra 50.00

DDR3-1066?
any reason for going with 1066 and not 1200,1600 or even higher?
The mainboard supports it.

@ twigs. I picked 1066 because the latancy was only 7, would i be better going off with a higher speed, higher latnancy kit?
@Okele, im extremely tempted.... i'll see if i can get him to squeeze in an extra $50, but at the same time, he's never gonna upgrade this system, maybe a hard drive....
@ dr walrus, that aeroshark moves more air than any other fan i own. And the cooler beat out the prolimatech megahelms. I got a 6950 to unlock it to a 6970 with a bios flash. The 560 is a bit underpowered for gaming maxxed when he dosnt want to upgrade for a long time.

Heres CAS 7 8196MB DD3-1600 kit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226178
(but its 129.99)
Heres CAS 8 8196MB DDR3-1600
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233147
thats a more reasonable 99.99
Another route would be CAS 6 4096MB DDR3-1600 (79.99)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231351
I'm running 4096MB and have yet to honestly even come close to running out of ram. Latency does make a difference, so i'd guess you would have to balance latency with density and speed. some others might give better input then i would about latency and what not.
( i like the computer case btw )
[edit] buddy has that touch fan controller. i wasn't exactly impressed with it. but its 24$

Are you stuck on the AMD GPU? Or is an Nvidia GPU possible as well?

Saved $120.00 roughly and you can add stuff like lighting and such.

the original gpu was nvidia, however the level of performance we are looking for is the 570 realm, not the 560 realm, so an unlocked 6950 fits the bill quite well.
We both love the 600T case, its a mid tower, has very nice aesthetics, and will look sweet when all the black trim is painted red, and lit up with red lighting. If there is a strong enough recommendation for a different case, I will seriously consider it.
@ okele, Also, when you add in the dvd drive, the fans, and all the other stuff, it comes out to be more expensive. lol... i also really. really. really... think the window on that case is ugly... i dont want to see the drive cage. lol...

This is a case I was considering before I found the deal on my Raven
http://www.eastluna.com/details.php?id=4014
It has AMD printed on the side, but it would be anything to fix that I don't think.

I didn't add in the fans, because the scope of fan sizes were changed.

Hmm... that is pretty.... i'll have to talk to him about that for sure... although i'm usually not a big fan of Lian Li cases.

Since we're talking NewEgg, has he considered the white Phantom with red trim? Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146074
It's $20 cheaper even after shipping, and it would be less work on your part.
