power analysis

Hey.
I was wondering if there is any easy way of measuring the power drain from a PCI card? Preferably I would like to measure it over time, so that i can see specifically what command accesses the higher power functions of the card.

Alternatively, does anyone know the power details of an Hauppage PVR-350 card?

does it pull power from a molex or just the mobo? If its a molex you might be able to hook a multimeter upto the leads and just watch it, otherwise I have no clue, and I'm not sure how safe that would be for the card.

nope just the mobo.
I have an PCI raiser card which might help...
but, as you say, hooking something up in there might not just burn the card, but also the mobo. I'll do some investigation of the PCI specifications and see what I can come up with. If I find something useful I'll post it here.
