Cool, looks a bit like polished marble or granite even, I played around with paint dipping before but obviously it's not very controllable and I couldn't quite get the look I wanted, you got closer to the look I was after :D

Nice. That swirl technique is really cool looking. It almost makes me want to switch to solvents.

You should do a guide for the forum!

I also think I will try this this summer. Seems easy enough.

Any solvent based paint will work. Take a container of water (big enough to fit your project) and then dump some paint in it, swirl it around with a stick, and then dunk your project. It's super easy. I almost want to buy some solvent based paints to do this and the water drop techniques.

That's a good look, I like it. Just enough of a mod to be be custom and a conversation starter without going crazy and voiding your consoles warranty or anything.

I figured it was something complicated but after reading your explanation I honestly never would have thought of that. It turned out really well. Looks cool!

wow , thanks for all the feedback you guys , this is pretty easy to do , but hard to replicate , if that makes sense.

im using a couple different types of paint the black is spray paint( rattle can:sprayed into a shot glass and poured in drops , ghetto , but whatevs it works :P) and the green is testors enamel paint. both react very differently and require their own technique. most people have said to use borax in your water mixture , but ive had better results using just water at about 75-80* degrees.

here are some more "practice dips on deadbox360

Very nice! I look forward to your video. I am in search of a big container to do this to my 360.

WOW! The last pics are really fantastic. I really like the finished result on there. That really looks cool. This makes me want to try this on my 360. Although I'd have to go red :) Would be just my luck that it would spite me an RROD if i did that.

pretty nice looking, how is the texture, did it stay sticky at all? or did you use a nice coat to seal it in and smooth i tout
